JAKARTA - Indonesia is once again made proud of the achievements of young people in the international arena. This time, the world of motorcycle racing brought the name Mario Suryo Aji to the fore.

Mario's name is known to the public because he will represent Indonesia at the Moto3 GP Mandalika 2022. Even though he made sure to appear in this prestigious international event, who would have thought that Mario's journey would not be easy?

Before finally successfully setting foot in the Moto3 competition, Mario apparently had the wrong way to channel his hobby. The 17-year-old teenager had become a wild racing jockey.

Because of the clay race, he later met with the Kapolda Metro Jaya Inspector General Fadil Imran. Unexpectedly, from that meeting Mario has now become the adopted son of the Kapolda and is increasingly classy in showing his achievements in the racing world.

Mario is a young man born in Magetan, March 16, 2004 who has shown an interest in the world of racing since he was a child. His paving talent was actually passed down from his father, Hartoto, who loved motorcycle racing.

When he was five years old, Mario was able to ride a mini dirt bike. He also began to diligently practice motocross until finally testing his skills by participating in racing competitions.

In 2011 when he was only seven years old, Mario even successfully won the runner-up title in the 50 cc class national motocross championship. Only two years later, in 2012-2013 to be exact, Mario proved his ability by winning the overall title in the 50 cc motocross and powercross national championships.

Not content to just try the dirt track, Mario then looks for new challenges in the road race. This is where the beginning of his dream to be able to appear in the MotoGP event slowly came true.

As a form of his seriousness and consistency, Mario started joining Hendriansyah's racing school in 2014. In the same year, he also started to try his luck in the Motoprix road race, Honda Dream Cup.

Increasingly confident, Mario then decided to join Astra Honda Racing School. At his new academy, Mario's career was even more brilliant and was seen when he took part in the Thailand Talent Cup race in 2017.

Not only that, Mario also continued to participate in the Asia Talent Cup race and managed to get fifth place. With this achievement, he feels more ready to appear on the world stage.

Mario was then trusted by the Astra Honda Racing Team to ride the Honda CBR250RR in the IRS and Asia Road Racing Championship (ARRC) AP250 class.

Thanks to his hard work, Mario now has the opportunity to appear in the world's prestigious racing events, namely FIM CEV Moto3 and Red Bull Rookies. The two competitions are the target of young riders as the starting gate to be able to appear in MotoGP.
