Beat Thailand's Women's Doubles, Greysia/Apriyani To The Indonesia Open Final

JAKARTA - Indonesia secured a ticket to the final round of the BWF Super 1000 Indonesia Open through the women's doubles, Greysia Polii/Apriyani Rahayu, who played dominantly in the semifinals, defeating Jongkolphan Kititharakul/Rawinda Prajongjai from Thailand, Saturday.

Second seed Greysia/Apriyani won with two straight games 21-18, 21-14 after struggling for 58 minutes to beat their third seeded opponent.

"Even though it wasn't even an hour (of competing) it felt like a long time, lucky and grateful for today's result," said Greysia as quoted by Antara, Saturday.

The pair who won the Tokyo 2020 Olympic gold medals appeared confident and compact in executing attacks. With painstaking, Greysia/Apriyani played bravely and made accurate ball placements.

There was also a chase for the score, but the Indonesian representative was able to survive and maintain the advantage in both games with difficulty. On the other side of the field, Jongkolphan/Rawinda are always under pressure and cannot develop their strategy.

The advantage was also received by Thailand when the Greysia / Apriyani pair made a mistake because they were in a hurry to kill their opponent. Seeing this opportunity, Jongkolphan / Rawinda had time to get up to catch up.

However, thanks to their cohesiveness and solid communication, Greysia/Apriyani was back in control of the game until the second game was finished.

"There is still tomorrow. We want to recover our bodies and minds, eat well and sleep well," said Apriyani about her preparations for her first Indonesia Open top party.

This victory adds to the advantage of Greysia / Apriyani in their meeting record to 7-1.
