Pockets Of Strong Evidence, PSSI Is More Confident In Mr Y In The Eyes Of Najwa Settings

JAKARTA - PSSI is increasingly convinced that Mr Y who claimed to be a referee in League 1 when he appeared at the Mata Najwa event was a setting. This was revealed by the General Chairperson (Ketum) of PSSI, Mochamad Iriawan, who already had solid evidence.

Iriawan said that the match-fixing case that had been discussed at the Mata Najwa event was questionable. This is related to the confession that came directly to him from one of the League 2 referees who claimed to be set.

"We are curious, so we are looking for who Mr Y is. Suddenly a League 2 assistant referee came to me, he felt bad because he had been contacted by Bambang Suryo," said Iriawan during a press conference at the PSSI office, Senayan on Tuesday, November 23.

The chairman of PSSI said that Bambang Suryo asked the referees to claim to be the referee in charge of League 1, even though they were not. The referee also admitted that he was told the questions and answers he had to say when he was a resource person.

However, the referee refused because he did not want to be involved in cheating. Feeling bad, the referee complained to Iriawan to give the truth.

"First he was contacted to claim to be a League 1 referee, then this question is the answer. It's been arranged that way," he said.

"Well this person came to me, there is a complete recording, but this person admitted to me that he refused," continued Iriawan.

Receiving valuable information, Iriawan emphasized that his party greatly appreciated the honesty of the referee. For that he promised to protect this witness and then help PSSI dismantle the match-fixing case.

"He called me saying this because he didn't want to be cheated on. He didn't feel like he told me everything. I keep the evidence and we will protect him because he is honest," explained the PSSI chairman.

With this evidence, PSSI is increasingly determined to reveal who the real person who was asked to be a fake source in fixing the score was.

Meanwhile, for Bambang Suryo, as the main actor who contacted the referee's device, it turned out that he had been sentenced to life for not being able to move in the sphere of football.
