JAKARTA - Kamaru Usman and Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez will both fight this weekend.

Usman will defend his UFC welterweight title in a rematch against Colby Covington. The duel takes place at Madison Square Garden in New York City.

Meanwhile, Canelo will battle Caleb Plant in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Then, what about the discussed crossover fight between these two champions? Usman thinks it is very likely in the future but Canelo is not so sure.

We've seen how big the difference in level between boxing and the UFC is through the Conor McGregor vs Floyd Mayweather fight.

But Usman does seem like a bigger threat than what Conor did to Floyd. However, Canelo is the greatest pound-for-pound boxer alive today.

Asked about the possibility of a crossover fight, Usman liked the idea.

"That makes sense because we are in an era where people want to be entertained," Usman told DAZN, Thursday.

"So, to cheer people up, when in history have we seen two of the world's pound-for-pound fighters at the peak of their combat sports careers, when have we ever seen them fight? It never happened," he added.

It's easy to think that Canelo was laughing at the idea of a crossover fight with one of the most dominant UFC champions in the ring.

However, the Mexican took many by surprise by hinting he would consider the fight if the pay was right.

In a video circulating on Twitter since his arrival to Las Vegas, Canelo simply says:
