YOGYAKARTA - The match's Implementing Committee (Panpel) has become one of the parties highlighted in the case of Tragedy at the Malang Kanjuruhan Stadium. The head of the Arema FC - Persebaya match, Abdul Haris, was named a suspect in the tense event. Panpel's job in the implementation of the October 1, 2022 match was questioned.

In the tragedy that killed 131 fatalities, it was stated that there was negligence in Panpel's duties. Apart from Abdul Haris, 3 other Panpels were also examined in a marathon, namely the Ticket Manager, Media Officer, and Security Officer.

Abdul Haris and Akhmad Hadian Lukita, President Director of PT LIB, were charged with Articles 359 of the Criminal Code and 360 of the Criminal Code, and Article 103 paragraph in conjunction with Article 52 of Law No. 11 of 2022 concerning sports. Abdul Haris expressed his sincerity with the punishment imposed on him for the tragedy. He also apologized to the families of the victims.

Panpel is considered to have made negligence and mistakes in the match at the Kanjuruhan Stadium last October 1. The following is the problem from the Panpel based on the police statement.

Meanwhile, the Chairman of the Disciplinary Committee for the All-Indonesian Football Association (Komdis PSSI), Erwin Tobing, assessed that the Panpel had committed several negligences, namely that the entrance was not opened, the hallway was dark, and the passing of the liquor carrier.

Panpel is the organizing committee for their respective club football matches, according to the BRI LIga 1 Competition Regulation 2021/2022. PT Liga Indonesia Baru (LIB) will arrange the Panpel and the personnel who take care of it or manage it.

Panpel's job is to take responsibility for preparing facilities for organizing matches. In addition, Panpel also plays a role in managing match licensing recommendations, security during matches, and selling match tickets.

In the implementation of the work, Panpel will be in contact with several parties such as security officers, match equipment, competition operators, and others.

That is the task of the football Panpel in regulations in Indonesia. As a result of the tragedy in Kajuruhan, Malang, the Chairperson of the Arema FC Panpel is sentenced to life not to be involved in the world of football.
