Garuda's Attack In The First Round, Didn't Make The War Elephants Submissive

JAKARTA – The results of the 2nd leg match in the 2020 AFF Cup final, between the Indonesian national team and Thailand ended with a score of 2-2, Saturday 1 January. The War Elephant Squad won 6-2 on aggregate. Thus Thailand won the 2020 AFF Cup.

At the beginning of the match, the Garuda team looked very aggressive in attacking the War Elephant. Even Thailand was surprised by a quick goal from Ricky Kambuaya, who was shot from outside the box. The score is 0-1 for Indonesia.

Until the match was running, the Indonesian national team had many opportunities to shoot the ball into the Thai goal. However, Thailand was able to stem the Garuda attack.

When the score was 0-1, Indonesia needed four goals without conceding to bring home the 2020 AFF Cup championship trophy. However, after Thailand made 3 substitutions, Indonesia got a counterattack. Thailand gave two goals at once, the score was 2-1 for Thailand.

10 minutes before the match ended, Egy Maulana Vikri listed his name on the scoreboard after shaking the Thai goal. Until the long whistle sounded the score was 2-2 unchanged. Thailand also officially registered his name as the winner in the 2020 AFF Cup with a 6-2 aggregate victory over the Indonesian national team.

This is the sixth trophy that the Garuda squad has won in this tournament. Thus, the Garuda squad for the sixth time had to postpone the celebration of the title in the AFF Cup.
