JAKARTA - Singapore's inflation remained at 1.8 percent in May. This figure is lower than market expectations and shows that price pressures are still under control.

As reported by CNBC, citing Tuesday, June 23, May inflation was unchanged from April. The figure was also below the 2 percent forecast of economists surveyed by Reuters.

Singapore government data shows that the cost of personal transportation, housing, retail, and food is the main contributor to inflation. However, the increase was held back by a decline in telecommunications services.

The increase in the price of cars and motorcycles is the main factor that drives personal transportation inflation.

Core inflation, which is inflation that does not include housing and personal transportation costs, was recorded at 1.4 percent. This figure is lower than the estimated 1.6 percent.

According to a report by CNBC citing the Monetary Authority of Singapore or MAS, energy prices have indeed eased recently. However, the level is still higher than 2025.

MAS estimates that higher energy costs will spread to the global supply chain. The impact could be felt on the cost of production and transportation of goods and imported services in Singapore.

The Singapore central bank also expects the cost of labor in the services sector to rise more slowly this year. The reason is that nominal wage growth has begun to slow.

On the other hand, domestic consumer spending is expected to be more cautious due to economic uncertainty.

This inflation data comes after MAS tightened monetary policy in April. It was the first tightening since April 2022. The move was taken due to the risk of inflation from the conflict in the Middle East.

Unlike many other central banks that regulate interest rates, MAS manages monetary policy through the Singapore dollar exchange rate. The currency is allowed to move within a certain range against a basket of major trading partners' currencies.

In its April policy review, MAS raised its core and headline inflation projections this year to 1.5 percent to 2.5 percent. Previously, the projections were in the range of 1 percent to 2 percent.

This inflation report comes after Singapore's economy grew stronger than expected in the first quarter. Singapore's gross domestic product rose 6 percent compared to the same period a year earlier. The figure exceeded Reuters' forecast of 5.1 percent.

The Singapore Ministry of Trade and Industry has maintained its 2026 economic growth projection in the range of 2 percent to 4 percent.

However, the government warned that the risk of slowing down significantly due to the conflict between the United States, Israel, and Iran.

JAKARTA - US President Donald Trump on Monday said he would do what he had to do if Iran did not comply with its agreement with Washington.

"If Iran does not fulfill their agreement, or if they do not behave well, I will do what I have to do," President Trump told reporters, launching Al Arabiya and Reuters (23/6).

The survey cited by Yonhap also noted another change. Victims who named an unknown person as the perpetrator fell from 46 percent in 2022 to 21.4 percent in the latest survey.

Even so, the survey showed a general decline in the number of people who have experienced sexual violence throughout their lives.

Victims who reported having experienced sexual violence through communication devices fell from 9.8 percent in 2022 to 7.6 percent in the latest survey.

Respondents who reported having experienced rape or attempted rape also decreased, from 0.2 percent to 0.1 percent in the same period.

The survey on sexual violence security is held every three years by the South Korean Ministry of Gender Equality and Family. This survey is used to photograph the condition of sexual violence and to be the material for policy formulation.

The latest report was compiled based on a survey of 10,151 adults aged 19 to 64 years old from August to October 2025.

JAKARTA - Minister of Finance Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa emphasized that the government would expand law enforcement against the practice of illegal used clothing imports by not only confiscating goods, but also punishing parties involved in their transportation, including ship owners.

According to Purbaya, this step is necessary to create a deterrent effect for smugglers, because until now, law enforcement has only focused on confiscating illegal goods, while those who play a role in the transportation process often escape legal sanctions.

"We are looking for legal ways to detain ships or punish ships, or ship owners involved in activities like this. I am sure in the past it was usually just a release, just the detention of their goods," said Purbaya in a press conference, Tuesday, June 23.

The statement was made following the success of the Directorate General of Customs and Excise in uncovering the practice of illegal used clothing imports or balpres in Jakarta and West Kalimantan with the value of goods secured estimated to be more than IDR 54 billion.

The first case was revealed at the Tanjung Priok Port after officers found 43 containers suspected of containing illegally imported used clothing, and the findings were then developed to lead to a number of storage locations in West Kalimantan.

The disclosure began with intelligence information regarding the KM Eden Mas ship which sailed from Pontianak to Tanjung Priok, and the ship carried 268 containers, consisting of 46 loaded containers and the rest were empty.

Based on the shipping documents, the recorded cargo includes instant noodles, general cargo, and moving goods. However, after the ship arrived at Tanjung Priok Port on June 15, 2026, an inspection using a scanner showed that 43 containers were suspected of containing balpes.

Until June 22, 2026, officers have inspected 19 containers and found 2,067 bales containing used clothes, bags, and accessories, and in total, the number of items in the 43 containers is estimated to reach 4,687 bales with an economic value of around IDR 37.5 billion.

The investigation was then expanded to West Kalimantan. In an operation that took place on June 19-21, 2026 in Kubu Raya Regency and Mempawah Regency, officers found thousands of illegal used clothing bales stored in a number of warehouses.

In Kubu Raya, officers found four trucks that were unloading balpress cargo. Meanwhile, in Mempawah, a warehouse used as a place to stockpile illegally imported used clothes was secured.

From both locations, the police confiscated around 2,060 bales of used clothes with an estimated value of IDR 16.48 billion.

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) examined the President of Borneo FC and also a member of the Indonesian House of Representatives from the NasDem Faction, Nabil Husein Said Amin Al Rasydi regarding alleged gratification related to the metric tons of coal mines in Kutai Kartanegara, East Kalimantan today.

JAKARTA - The Witness and Victim Protection Agency (LPSK) provides emergency protection for victims of alleged kidnapping and persecution carried out by the perpetrator named Taufik Hidayat in Cinunuk, Bandung Regency, West Java.

"As of today, we have issued an emergency agenda, emergency handling," said Deputy Chairman of the LPSK Wawan Fahrudin as reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, June 23.

Wawan said LPSK admitted to being concerned about the tragedy that befell the victim because it was very inhumane.

JAKARTA - The Iranian Intelligence Ministry announced the arrest of 17 people accused of working as "mercenary traitors" for the United States and Israel in a security operation in western Iran.

"The arrest was made based on the results of intelligence surveillance and information from the community," the ministry said in a statement, as quoted by the Iranian news agency, IRNA.

Three of them were identified as field leaders of sabotage networks operating in Ilam Province.

The ministry said the suspects were suspected of being involved in activities that disrupted security, including the destruction and burning of public facilities, shooting, video recording, and symbolic actions to spread fear and terror among the community.

During the search of the suspects, Iranian authorities found three blocks of TNT explosives, one Kalashnikov rifle, one grenade, as well as a number of sharp weapons, including machetes.

In addition to the three people who are said to be the leaders of the network, 14 other suspects were also arrested for allegedly being members of the sabotage network.

JAKARTA - PT Perusahaan Gas Negara (Persero) Tbk (PGN) plans to bring in additional natural gas supplies by utilizing stranded gas, especially at the Sengeti Field.

PGN Corporate Secretary Fajriyah Usman said that with its capabilities, including integrated gas infrastructure, PGN is taking a role in utilizing gas sources from fields that were previously considered less economical (stranded gas).

"PGN bridges the existing challenges by integrating the supply potential from the Sengeti field into the PGN natural gas distribution network," he said, quoted Tuesday, June 23.

Meanwhile, the potential gas supply from the Sengeti field is around 5 MMSCFD.

This additional supply is projected to be delivered as early as Q4 2028, to meet the energy needs of industrial customers and power plants.

This breakthrough is also expected to contribute to the country's revenue, as well as support the government in the development of gas fields, and ensure the security of a sustainable supply of natural gas for domestic needs.

"The utilization of stranded gas is one of PGN's strategies in an effort to provide natural gas supplies for all domestic customers in the midst of challenges. Gas from the Sengeti Field will add to the pipeline gas supply, PGN ensures that infrastructure and commercial readiness are in accordance with applicable standards and provisions," continued Fajriyah.

Fajriyah continued, the utilization of gas from the Sengeti Field is also an added value for the company, one of which is from the development of gas processing business in the field.

PGN's achievement in utilizing gas from the Sengeti Field is expected to provide a positive domino effect for all stakeholders. The utilization of gas from the field, which was previously considered unattractive, is expected to support the government's target of increasing natural gas lifting while stimulating investment and exploration attractiveness.

JAKARTA - Minister of Finance Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa emphasized that the legal protection provided to investors in Patriot Bond and Merah Putih Bond cannot be equated with the facilities that were previously provided in the tax amnesty program.

According to Purbaya, the provisions set out in the revision of the Law on the Development and Strengthening of the Financial Sector (P2SK) only provide protection for funds invested in the instrument.

He added that the protection does not cover all assets and business activities owned by investors.

The explanation was given by Purbaya as a response to various criticisms and debates that have emerged regarding Article 50A of Law Number 4 of 2026.

This article regulates protection for buyers of special debt securities issued by the Anagata Nusantara Power Investment Management Agency (Danantara), namely Patriot Bond and Merah Putih Bond.

"The truth is, the money used for Patriot Bonds will not be touched by the source of where it came from. But if he has other businesses, he can be pursued," he told the media, Tuesday, June 23.

Purbaya explained that the government only provides protection for funds placed in the instrument, without removing the authority of the apparatus to conduct an examination of the investor's assets or business activities outside the investment.

"The money that comes in is secured, the money outside the mah is up to them," he explained.

He emphasized that the scheme was different from the tax amnesty which provided forgiveness for the assets disclosed by the program participants.

According to Purbaya, it is therefore not appropriate if the provision is equated with the tax amnesty policy that the government has implemented previously. "So it's not like tax amnesty. Tax amnesty is free of all. This is not. Money goes into it," he explained.

Amid concerns that the rules could potentially open the door to money laundering practices, Purbaya assessed that this policy was actually designed to attract funds that had been outside the financial system to enter the country and could be used to support development financing.

In the regulation, Danantara obtained the authority to issue special debt instruments in the form of Patriot Bond and Merah Putih Bond in addition to conventional debt instruments that have been known in the market.

Article 50A paragraph (5) states that the state guarantees and protects the purchase of special debt instruments from general criminal charges, special criminal charges including tax crimes, and civil lawsuits.

Meanwhile, paragraph (6) stipulates that data and information related to the purchase of the instrument cannot be used as a basis for imposing taxes or evidence in legal proceedings.

The protection only applies to transactions carried out in the primary market as regulated in paragraph (7).

Dewi explained that the new PSDK Law gives LPSK the authority to conduct direct outreach, self-protection initiatives, and threat assessments without having to wait for recommendations or requests from any party. Articles in the PSDK Law, according to him, have designed LPSK as an agile, responsive, and courageous institution to act quickly in emergency situations.

"The case of kidnapping YTR in Bandung Regency is the most real test. The victim is in a very vulnerable situation. WASHINGTON - A US federal judge has overturned Donald Trump's government database containing personal information of citizens. The database was declared illegal because it was used by a number of states to cross out citizens who actually have the right to vote from the voter list.

As reported by China Daily, quoted Tuesday, June 23, the ruling was handed down by Judge Sparkle Sooknanan of the US District Court for the District of Columbia on Monday.

"The federal government has knowingly trampled on the privacy rights of American citizens in a way that threatens the sacred right to vote. This court cannot stand idly by when that happens," Sooknanan wrote in his ruling, as quoted by China Daily.

According to Sooknanan, a number of federal agencies rushed to comply with the executive order to overhaul the federal election. As a result, they arbitrarily combined and reused the personal data of millions of Americans.

The data includes citizenship information that the judge said was already known to be unreliable.

"Since then, states have worked with the federal government to access the database and actively remove United States citizens from the voter rolls based on inaccurate information," Sooknanan wrote.

The judge said this case touched two basic rights of American citizens, namely the right to privacy and the right to vote.

The ruling came after a coalition of voting and privacy rights advocates filed a lawsuit in September. The lawsuit was led by the League of Women Voters.

They are suing changes to the Systematic Alien Verification for Entitlements or SAVE, the US government's system for verifying a person's citizenship and immigration status.

JAKARTA - US Vice President JD Vance on Monday reiterated his claim that Iran had agreed to allow nuclear inspectors to return to the country, while Tehran denied making any new commitments regarding its nuclear program.

"We have asked Iran to allow weapons inspectors, nuclear inspectors, to enter their country for the first time in a long time. Obviously we will strengthen the inspection regime to ensure that they will never have nuclear weapons," said Vice President Vance to reporters before leaving Switzerland after talks with Iranian officials, launching Anadolu (23/6).

"It is an important milestone for the American people and the first step in permanent denuclearization or permanently ending the nuclear weapons program in Iran," he said.

KPK spokesman Budi Prasetyo said investigators would review the results of the analysis prepared by the prosecutor's team to see Ahmad Dedi's involvement in the construction of the case.

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Communication and Digital has strengthened cooperation with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), in the development of artificial intelligence (AI) talent.

The collaboration, which was realized through the signing of the Record of Discussions (Record of Discussions) of the Next Generation AI Talent Factory Technical Cooperation Project, is aimed at supporting child protection in the digital space, handling disinformation, and various national development priorities.

The Minister of Communication and Information, Nezar Patria, stated that the cooperation was a strategic step in strengthening the capacity of Indonesian AI talent as well as deepening the partnership between Indonesia and Japan in the field of digital transformation.

"The cooperation we are carrying out today reflects the strong friendship and strategic partnership between Indonesia and Japan, especially in preparing our people to thrive in the digital era," he said.

According to Nezar, Indonesia and Japan share the same view on the importance of developing AI that is sovereign and provides real benefits to the community.

In the midst of rapid AI development and the ever-changing global geopolitical dynamics, both countries view this collaboration as an important foundation for strengthening national capacity and accelerating innovation.

"We want a more equal partnership. I think this is a very good cooperation that we are trying to strengthen between Japan and Indonesia to explore and develop this AI technology which is very strategic at this time," he said.

Nezar also emphasized that AI has become one of the important factors that determine the economic competitiveness and the future of a nation. Therefore, investment in human resources must be a top priority.

Through the Next Generation AI Talent Factory, Kemkomdigi and JICA will strengthen the development of Indonesian AI talent through capacity building, knowledge exchange, institutional collaboration, and the development of innovation based on national needs.

Through this cooperation, Komdigi and JICA hope to accelerate the birth of a generation of competitive Indonesian AI talent at the global level, able to build solutions for various national challenges, and support the realization of Indonesian AI sovereignty through the use of safe, responsible, and community-oriented technology.

JAKARTA - Legendary British rocker Rod Stewart surprised his fans after being caught using an oxygen tube in the middle of his performance.

JAKARTA - Chairman of the National Awakening Party (PKB) Muhaimin Iskandar or Cak Imin assessed that the Nahdlatul Ulama General Manager (PBNU) under the leadership of Yahya Cholil Staquf (Gus Yahya) has experienced setbacks compared to previous periods.

Cak Imin's statement was made ahead of the 35th PBNU Congress, which is scheduled to take place on August 1-5, 2026 and will be a forum for determining the succession of leadership of the largest Islamic organization in Indonesia.

JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto ordered the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Bahlil Lahadalia to take measured steps to ensure that the alternating power outages on part of Java Island do not recur. The instruction was delivered after a limited meeting at the Presidential Palace, Jakarta, Monday, June 22.

The meeting was also attended by the President Director of PT PLN (Persero) Darmawan Prasodjo. The government emphasized the need to strengthen the national electricity system so that similar disruptions do not occur again.

"President Prabowo's instructions to us to immediately ensure that we take measured steps in order to accelerate so that this kind of thing (power outage - red) does not happen again," said Bahlil Lahadalia.

Bahlil Lahadalia explained that there were three main causes that triggered power outages in several areas of Java Island.

The first cause is technical constraints on gas-powered power plants (PLTG) which disrupt the operation of the electricity system.

However, he emphasized that the current electricity system condition has returned to normal. Based on PLN's report, there are no significant disruptions left.

"Starting today, PLN conveyed to me in the meeting that starting today there has been no more disruption. That's according to the CEO of PLN. Because the technical affairs of electricity operational services are with PLN. The government is a regulator," he said.

The second cause is the limited supply of medium-calorific coal needed by PLN for the blending process. PLN's coal needs each year reach around 154 million tons, of which 134 million tons have been contracted.

Meanwhile, the government through the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources has tasked mining companies to supply coal to PLN as much as 180 to 190 million tons per year.

However, the specific needs of medium-calorific coal become a challenge in the distribution of supply.

"Which has been contracted by PLN 134 million tons. Actually, in a contract with PLN with entrepreneurs 134 million for one year. Now it's only month 6, it shouldn't be an issue. It turns out that what PLN complains about is the medium calories for blending," he said.

Bahlil Lahadalia said the government had intervened to ensure that the supply of coal according to the needs of the plant could be met.

The third cause is the maintenance process at the power plant. Bahlil asked PLN to accelerate the maintenance of the plant facilities and the network so that the reliability of the system is maintained.

He emphasized that the acceleration of maintenance is important to ensure the quality of electricity services to the community.

"But more than that, we ask PLN to immediately carry out maintenance so that it can really provide certainty of service to the community. I think that," he concluded.

JAKARTA - The East Jakarta Transportation Service (Sudinhub) explained the parking controversy on Jalan Mayjen Sutoyo, Cawang, East Jakarta which is often complained about by the public because it is considered to trigger congestion.

Sudinhub Jaktim emphasized that parking on the road in the corridor was actually allowed at certain points and times, but violations were still found in the field.

Head of Sudinhub East Jakarta Harlem Simanjuntak said his party had followed up on community reports regarding the parking conditions on the road.

JAKARTA - Iranian officials on Monday said cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) would continue under the existing framework and in accordance with the decisions of the parliament and the Supreme National Security Council.

Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei said Tehran "has not made any new commitments to any party" regarding cooperation with the UN nuclear watchdog, according to state television station IRIB, quoted by Anadolu (23/6).

Baghaei said sources who were aware of the information from the 18-hour talks with the United States in Switzerland on Sunday confirmed that no negotiations were conducted on Iran's nuclear issue and no new commitments were made.

He said that any future nuclear negotiations based on the 14-Point Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding would depend on the implementation of Article 13 of the agreement.

Article 13 of the memorandum of understanding is understood as the main prerequisite for starting formal talks on nuclear-related issues, although the exact provisions have not been made public.

Baghaei previously said that talks in Switzerland focused on unresolved provisions in the Islamabad memorandum, in particular ending the war on all fronts, including in Lebanon, and the release of frozen Iranian assets.

Meanwhile, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said on Monday morning, negotiations with the US in Switzerland facilitated by Pakistan and Qatar had produced "significant progress" towards ending the war in Lebanon and reducing pressure on the Iranian economy.

JAKARTA - The government is committed to continuing to shorten the waiting period for the hajj and improving the quality of services for Indonesian pilgrims after the 1447 H/2026 M hajj was considered to have run smoothly and successfully.

Head of the Government Communication Agency (Bakom) RI Muhammad Qodari said President Prabowo Subianto has given special attention to efforts to accelerate the waiting period for the hajj, which has now been successfully reduced from the previous 47 years to 26 years nationwide.

"This achievement was appreciated by President Prabowo. However, the President assessed that these efforts needed to continue. Therefore, the President instructed relevant ministries/institutions to develop mechanisms and find various alternative solutions so that the waiting period for Hajj can be further shortened," said Qodari, Monday, June 22.

According to Qodari, the government does not want to be complacent even though this year's haj has received much appreciation from pilgrims. Various breakthroughs that have been made will continue to be improved to provide better services in the upcoming hajj season.

This year, as many as 220,247 Indonesian regular pilgrims have performed the hajj pilgrimage in the Holy Land. The 2026 hajj also marks a new milestone because for the first time the entire process is managed by the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah which was formed in 2025.

Qodari explained that a number of innovations implemented this year include the acceleration of visa processing, the distribution of the Nusuk Card since it was in Indonesia, the optimization of fast track services or Makkah Route, to the improvement of the quality of accommodation, consumption, and transportation of pilgrims.

JAKARTA - US President Donald Trump said on Monday that Iran would accept massive weapons inspections as part of efforts to ensure what he described as "nuclear honesty" in the future.

"Everyone is very aware that Iran will agree to undergo a Massive Arms Inspection to ensure 'Nuclear Honesty' far into the future," President Trump wrote in a post on his social media platform, Truth Social, Anadolu (23/6) reported.

The statement came hours after Vice President JD Vance said talks with Iran at Burgenstock, Switzerland, had produced "a very good foundation" for a final deal.

Vice President Vance also claimed that Tehran had agreed to allow inspectors from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) to return to the country.

However, citing a source, Iran's semi-official Fars news agency denied Vice President Vance's claim, stating that there was no discussion during recent talks in Switzerland regarding the return of IAEA inspectors to Iran.

Previously, Iran and the US on June 14 announced they had reached a 14-point agreement through Pakistani mediation, aimed at ending the four-month-old war, reopening the Strait of Hormuz, and establishing a framework for nuclear negotiations.

The memorandum came into force on June 18 after being signed electronically by Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian and US President Donald Trump.

JAKARTA - The defendant in the alleged corruption case in the procurement of Chromebooks, Nadiem Makarim, is scheduled to undergo a follow-up trial at the Corruption Court (Tipikor) in Central Jakarta on Tuesday, June 23.

The agenda of the trial this time is the reading of the duplik or the final response from the defendant to the replik previously submitted by the public prosecutor (JPU).

The trial is scheduled to take place starting at 10.00 WIB in the Prof. Dr. H. Muhammad Hatta Ali courtroom, based on the Case Tracking Information System (SIPP) of the Central Jakarta District Court.

Information regarding the agenda of the trial was also conveyed through the Instagram account @nadiemmakarim.

"Duplik Nadiem and the Legal Advisory Team will be submitted on June 23, 2026," the statement read.

The reading of the duplik is one of the important stages in the trial process because it is the last opportunity for the defendant and the legal team to respond to the prosecutor's arguments before the panel of judges enters the deliberation stage and reads the verdict.

In the previous hearing, the former Minister of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology stated his belief that the corruption charges against him were not proven in the trial.

Nadiem even hopes that the panel of judges will give a pure acquittal in the case that has entangled him.

"My case is very unique, all four elements of corruption have not been proven. So yes, my great hope is that there will be a pure free decision," said Nadiem when reading a response to the prosecutor's reply at the trial last week.

According to him, all elements that are the basis of the prosecutor's indictment cannot be proven during the trial. Therefore, he considers that there is no sufficient legal basis to declare himself guilty in the alleged corruption case for the procurement of Chromebooks.

After the duplicate hearing was held, the panel of judges will continue the case with a deliberation agenda before passing a verdict on Nadiem Makarim.

JAKARTA - US Vice President JD Vance on Sunday said Iran had agreed to invite International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) inspectors back to the country, after the first round of talks to end the war in the Middle East.

Tehran and Washington held peace talks with the mediation of Pakistan and Qatar at the Lake Lucerne Summit at the Burgenstock Resort, Switzerland, Sunday (21/6).

"Iran has agreed to invite IAEA inspectors back to their country," Vice President Vance told reporters at the Burgenstock resort in Switzerland, where his talks with Iran's chief negotiator, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, began on Sunday, Al Arabiya and AFP reported (22/6).

"It is an important milestone for the American people and the first step in permanent denuclearization or permanently ending the nuclear weapons program in Iran," he said.

The Lake Lucerne Summit was held following the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding, which consists of 14 points and was signed by President Trump and Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian last week.

The US delegation was led by Vice President JD Vance. From the Iranian side there was the Speaker of Parliament Mohammad Bagher Galibaf. Meanwhile, Pakistan is led by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Qatar is led by Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani.

The talks in Switzerland are the first stage of a two-month negotiation period set out under an initial deal agreed last week.

Pakistani and Qatari mediators said negotiators agreed on a "roadmap to a final agreement within 60 days," with technical talks continuing through the weekend at Burgenstock, a secluded hotel complex in central Switzerland.

The final agreement will seek to end the war launched by the United States and Israel on February 28, which prompted Iran to carry out a retaliatory attack with a salvo of missiles and drones across the region, effectively closing the Strait of Hormuz, a waterway vital to the world economy.

The negotiators aim to address some of the most intractable issues that have plagued U.S.-Iranian relations for decades, including Tehran's nuclear program and enriched uranium.

Under the terms of last week's preliminary agreement, released by US officials, Iran would reduce its stockpiles of enriched uranium, possibly by "on-site blending under IAEA supervision," the UN nuclear watchdog.

The IAEA estimates Iran has 440 kilograms (970 pounds) of uranium enriched to 60 percent, close to the level needed for a bomb.

Iran itself suspended cooperation with the IAEA after Israel and the United States launched the previous wave of attacks in June 2025 and inspectors have not seen the material since then.

Vice President Vance said he expected conversations with the inspectors about their return to Iran to begin soon.

"I estimate it will happen at the latest this week, but we think even some conversations with the inspectors and with the IAEA can happen as soon as today," he said.

Separately, IAEA Chief Rafael Grossi wrote on Sunday on social media X that he was in Burgenstock and met with Swiss Foreign Minister Ignazio Cassis.

BANDUNG - A woman with the initials YTR (29) is suspected of being a victim of kidnapping and severe abuse committed by her lover, TH, for about three years in Bandung Regency, West Java. As a result of the violence he suffered, the victim is now blind in both eyes and a number of other serious injuries.

Head of Public Relations of West Java Police, Kombes Pol Hendra Rochmawan, said the results of the autopsy showed that the victim's condition was very worrying.

After visiting the hospital, the family found the victim in a deplorable condition. The police revealed that before being found at the hospital, the victim was unknown to the family for about three years.

"Previously the victim disappeared, there was no news and his whereabouts were unknown for about three years," said Hendra.

Investigators suspect that during this period, the victim was repeatedly subjected to persecution by the reported using his hands, blunt objects, to sharp weapons. In addition, a number of valuables belonging to the victim were also reported missing.

Until now, the suspect with the initials TH is still being pursued by the police. The West Java Police have formed a joint team to hunt down the perpetrator.
