JAKARTA - Hyundai Australia has recalled 3,445 units of 2025 production vehicles which include the Kona, Tucson, Sonata, Santa Fe, Ioniq 9, and Palisade models. This step was taken following a potential disruption of car components.
Launching from Drive, Thursday, April 30, the disruption is on the Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) software which risks affecting the display of important information while driving. In an official notice delivered to the Department of Infrastructure.
"Due to a software issue, the Instrument Panel (IPC) may fail to display vehicle speed, fuel level, and other important safety information," the statement said.
"The loss of warning systems during driving can increase the risk of accidents that cause injury or death to vehicle passengers, other road users, and people around the scene of the incident," he continued.
This recall was announced on April 20, 2026 with a total of 3,445 vehicles affected. The details include 2,929 units for the Kona, Tucson, Sonata, Santa Fe, and Ioniq 9 models, and 516 Palisade units.
Hyundai has also provided a list of vehicle identification numbers (VIN) for each model to make it easier for owners to check. Hyundai Australia ensures that all affected vehicle owners will receive a written official notification.
They are asked to immediately contact the official dealer to schedule an IPC software update at no cost. For vehicles that have been equipped with Hyundai Bluelink services, software updates can be performed automatically through the Over-the-Air (OTA) system, so owners do not have to come directly to the workshop.
