JAKARTA - The Indonesia International Motor Show 2026 (IIMS 2026) officially ended with quite an impressive achievement. Throughout its implementation, the annual automotive exhibition recorded a total transaction of up to IDR 9.5 trillion.
This achievement increased by 18.75 percent compared to the previous year which was in the range of Rp8 trillion. This result shows that public interest in the automotive industry is still strong.
Although, the global economic conditions continue to experience dynamics, consumer purchasing power for vehicles and related products is still considered stable. Project Manager IIMS 2026 Rudi MF, said the figure is the result of a recap of the overall transactions recorded during the exhibition.
"The latest transaction recap reached Rp. 9.5 trillion," said Rudi in the presentation of the evaluation of IIMS 2026 in Jakarta, Thursday, March 12.
Not only from the transaction side, the number of visitors also shows a relatively stable trend. Throughout the exhibition, IIMS 2026 managed to attract 580,250 visitors, an increase of 0.16 percent compared to the 2025 event which reached 579,337 people.
Electric vehicles are one of the main highlights at this year's exhibition. Sales of electric cars recorded growth of 31.83 percent compared to the previous year.
The most striking growth was seen in the electric motorcycle segment. Where, sales jumped 96.54 percent or almost doubled compared to last year.
On the other hand, conventional fuel vehicles still show positive performance. Conventional car sales were recorded to have increased by 15.91 percent, while conventional motorcycles experienced a significant increase of 67.90 percent.
The data shows that despite the trend of electric vehicles continues to grow, the conventional vehicle market in Indonesia still has a strong demand. In addition, the live experience program remains a major attraction.
Test drive activities are the most popular program with a participation rate of 34 percent. Meanwhile, the test ride activity for two-wheeled vehicles is in second place with 33 percent.
Other programs such as IIMS x IDP recorded an interest of 24 percent, followed by IIMS Infinite Show at 21 percent and IIMS Infinite Live at 20 percent. Seeing the growing market enthusiasm, the organizers plan to expand the implementation of IIMS to a number of major cities in Indonesia.
In addition to Jakarta and Surabaya, the exhibition will also be held in Makassar, Balikpapan, and Manado. In fact, it is not impossible that the number of hosting cities will increase in the future.
"After Jakarta, we will continue to Surabaya, Makassar, Balikpapan, and Manado. In the future, there may be additional cities," concluded Rudi.
