JAKARTA - The Indonesian Motor Vehicle Industry Association (Gaikindo) this year will again hold a business-to-business exhibition for commercial vehicles, namely the Gaikindo International Commercial Vehicle Expo (GIICOMVEC).

This year's exhibition marks a strategic move by moving the exhibition location to a wider and more strategic area, namely Hall B and Hall C, Jakarta International Expo (JIExpo) Kemayoran, on April 8-11, 2026.

The selection of this new location is an effort by GAIKINDO to accommodate the increasing enthusiasm of the industry and provide better accessibility for business actors in exploring modern transportation solutions.

In the midst of the challenges faced by the Indonesian automotive industry, export figures are actually getting stronger and even successfully setting a record high for all time. This strengthening makes export performance a key pillar of national industry growth, not least for the commercial vehicle sector which also makes strategic contributions. The brilliant achievement throughout 2025 is reflected in the total delivery of complete vehicles (CBU) to 93 destination countries which reached 518,212 units, or increased by 9.75 PERCENT compared to the previous year which was recorded at 472,194 units.

The commercial vehicle sector itself contributed almost 4 PERCENT of the total exports or 20,326 units, where various categories of Indonesia's flagship commercial vehicles have now become operational staples in the international market.

Responding to this positive result, Putu Juli Ardika, Chairman of GAIKINDO, emphasized the importance of maintaining the momentum of growth through strengthening the manufacturing base.

"The achievement of export records in 2025 is a tangible proof that the quality of Indonesian automotive production has been recognized globally. Increasing production volume is crucial to ensure that the Indonesian vehicle industry has a strong supply base to meet the growing global demand, while strengthening our position in the global automotive supply chain," said Putu.

Currently, the number of car production in Indonesia is recorded at around 1.2 million units in 2025 and is predicted to continue to grow, Gaikindo is optimistic that the absorption of production will be able to maximize the production capacity of the Indonesian automotive industry which reaches 2.59 million units per year.

Putu Juli also added that the implementation of GIICOMVEC 2026 is an important momentum to realize this target. Moreover, it is designed to be a bridge that brings together the national automotive industry with potential buyers, both from within and outside the country.

"The presence of international buyers at this exhibition is expected to open a wider path for Indonesian commercial vehicle products to be known and used in more countries. By expanding the market network through this exhibition, the export figures can continue to increase and contribute more to the achievement of the Indonesian automotive industry," he added.

GIICOMVEC 2026 will present well-known brands in Indonesia from the commercial vehicle industry and its supporting industries, including several new brands that will demonstrate innovation, including Daihatsu, DFSK, Foton, Hino, Isuzu, JAC Motor, Mitsubishi Fuso, Suzuki, Toyota, and Wuling have confirmed their participation. To complement this year's event, GIICOMVEC 2026 will also present a special China Pavilion area that showcases the latest innovations from exhibitors from China. In addition, this exhibition will also be attended by the domestic automotive body industry and other supporting industries. All of these exhibition series will occupy Hall B and Hall C JIExpo with a total area of more than 16,000 square meters.

Anton Kumonty, Chairman of the Daily and Chairman of the Organizer of the Gaikindo Exhibition and Conference, explained that GIICOMVEC is present to help business actors find the right fleet according to their business type. He realized that each industry sector has different challenges, so it requires vehicles with the right specifications offered by GIICOMVEC.

"We want GIICOMVEC to be the right solution where trade visitors can get all their business needs at one time. Starting from seeing the latest chassis technology, adjusting the body design, to exploring various innovations from the automotive supporting industry, everything is available in full throughout the exhibition," he said.
