JAKARTA - Chinese automotive brands known for their battery exchange system, Nio continues to expand its wings in the international market, by opening its first distributor store in Hungary along with further expansion.
CNevpost, Tuesday, January 27, the Nio AutoWallis showroom in Budapest opened on January 22 local time, marking an important milestone for Nio in Hungary.
"With the inauguration of this new showroom, AutoWallis officially starts sales and service operations for Nio and Firefly vehicles in Hungary," the company said in a statement.
This will help further strengthen Nio's position in the central European market, bringing premium smart electric mobility to more users in Hungary.
Currently, customers in Hungary can try and buy four Nio models: Nio ET5, Nio ET5 Touring, Nio EL6, and Nio EL8. EL6 and EL8 correspond to the ES6 and ES8 models sold in China.
As is known, Nio entered the European market in 2021, with Norway as its first stop. Initially, Nio adopted a direct sales model in Europe, with the aim of replicating its service model from China abroad.
However, this has proven challenging. Over the past two years, the company has begun to switch to a more asset-efficient model by relying on national distributors. In Hungary, Nio operates a battery exchange station assembly plant to support the deployment of its locations in Europe.
