JAKARTA - Following its debut in Indonesia at the 2025 GIIAS exhibition, Chery's sub-brand, Lepas, has been confirmed to be arriving in Australia soon.

According to Driveau on Tuesday, September 23, the Lepas brand is confirmed to arrive in 2026. Lepas itself claims to differentiate itself from other Chery SUV brands with its expressive design.

Meanwhile, its interior is driver-focused and aimed at younger buyers than its siblings, the Omoda and Jaecoo.

Lepas has many models, but the first Lepas model in Australia is expected to be the L8, a mid-size SUV closely related to the Tiggo 8 and Tiggo X in Chery's Australian lineup.

Dimensionally, the Lepas L8 measures 4,688 mm in length, 1,860 mm in width, 1,695 mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,800 mm, offering a spacious cabin for seven passengers.

This car is equipped with a 1,500 cc Turbo DHE engine and an electric motor, producing a combined power of 213 hp and 310 Nm of torque. It can travel 100 km in full EV mode, with a comprehensive range of over 1,300 km.

The L8 is equipped with various advanced features such as ADAS, an electric panoramic sunroof, a head-up display (HUD), and a 13.2-inch vertical touchscreen.

This model has already been exhibited in Indonesia, and can even be ordered at the 2025 GIIAS exhibition with a booking fee of IDR 5 million.
