Chery, NMAA, And Cellos Collaboration Presents J6 As Electric SUV Full Of Style & Story At GIIAS 2025

TANGERANG - PT Chery Sales Indonesia (CSI) is again the center of attention at the GIIAS 2025 event, not because the latest model is back but thanks to collaboration with the National Modificator & Aftermarket Association (NMAA) and the famous public figure Yoshua Marcellos or familiarly with the stage name Cellos.

This collaboration not only gave birth to one, but two modified Yogyakarta J6 units with personal touch. One unit was specially designed by Cellos as a family car that represented his lifestyle after marriage, while another unit was prepared as the main prize in the 'IMX Super Giveaway On The Spot' program, namely Chery J6 by Cellos ZXZ' which will be drawn at the Indonesia Modification & Lifestyle Expo (IMX) October 2025 event.

Carrying the concept of 'Family, Passion, and Modification', Cellos and the NMAA team changed the DNA of the first off-road electric SUV in Indonesia to a vehicle that is not only resilient, but also family friendly and stylish. This concept emphasizes that a sustainable lifestyle can run in harmony with a stylish personal touch, reflecting the spirit of dynamic and story-filled family togetherness.

Head of Brand & Marketing Department of PT Chery Sales Indonesia, Rifkie Setiawan, said that the display of Cellos' modified Yogy J6 is expected to inspire that electric SUVs can become a space to channel creativity for owners who want to explore the appearance of Chery J6 to be cooler.

"The concept carried also confirms that Chery J6 can be very friendly to families, combining the beauty of the modified results with the latest technology from an electric SUV," he said, when met at ICE BSD, Tangerang, Sunday, July 28.

The strategic collaboration between Chery and NMAA also presents an innovative Chery J6 Modification Contest 2025 with the theme 'Unleash The Unexpected'. This competition is a forum as well as a special creative exploration event for owners of Chery J6 to present a unique and innovative personalization of vehicle modifications.

Kickoff competition was held at the GIIAS 2025 event, followed by a rigorous online selection process. Fifteen of the best works will have the opportunity to be exhibited at the J6 Fest, a peak moment where the main winner will be announced. It does not stop there, the two best modified cars will even get the spotlight on the Chery booth at the Indonesian Modification Expo (IMX) 2025 exhibition, providing maximum exposure for Indonesian modified talents.

The 2025 Chery J6 Modification Contest is open to all official owners of Chery J6 cars in Indonesia. Participants are given the freedom to explore various styles of modification, ranging from Elegant, Sporty, Offroad Look, to Street Racing. However, there are several important limits that must be adhered to to to maintain vehicle security and functionality. Modifications are also not allowed to change the main structure of the vehicle, as well as the main and rear lights. Safety aspects such as brakes, lights, safety belts, and lockdown systems must remain as normal as manufacturer standards.

There is also a competition open to the public titled Chery J6 Digimods Challenge 2025, a digital design competition to modify Chery J6. This event is a forum for creative exploration for digital automotive designers, starting at the GIIAS 2025 event and will last for 60 days.

Participants are challenged to send original design works in an inspiring 2D format, realistic, and in accordance with the specified themes. The best works will not only get attractive prizes and certificates, but also exclusive publications with the highlight of the awarding ceremony at the J6 Fest.

Through this collaboration, Chery invites J6 owners to be more daring to express themselves. With a Super Good Looking design, Super Driving Experience performance, and Super Fun features, Chery J6 can be the ideal canvas to be decorated according to the personality of each of its owners.
