JAKARTA - Toyota Australia has recalled 9,586 units of Toyota C-HR, Camry, Corolla, Corolla Cross, GR Corollla, GR Yaris, Kluger, and RAV4 production year 2022-2025.

Based on a report from Drive, quoted on Friday, July 18, the reason for the recall was due to damage to the 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster on the model mentioned above.

Affected vehicles were produced between July 2022 and April 2025, but not all vehicles produced during this period were affected, and some may have been sold in the future.

"There is a possibility that the screen will be empty when the vehicle is turned on and will remain in this condition," Toyota Australia said in a statement.

The Japanese auto giant revealed the problem was due to improper combination meter programming that could cause memory devices to damage earlier than they should.

"Driving without a speedometer and any warning could result in an increased risk of accidents under certain driving conditions," the company said.

Toyota Australia advises affected owners to contact local Toyota dealers to repair the damage, which requires updating of instrument panel software.

Repairs are estimated to take between one and 2.5 hours, depending on the model, and will be made free of charge to the owner.
