JAKARTA - In the midst of a situation of uncertainty regarding global EV sales, Hyundai N decided to continue to provide high-performance cars from various powertrains, such as gasoline (ICE), hybrid, and others that will coexist with its electric vehicle lines.

This high performance division from Hyundai ensures that there will be more gasoline-powered models in the future following launches from Ioniq 5 N and Ioniq 6 N.

Vice President and Head of N Brand, Joon Park said that his party will not have dependence on providing high-performance vehicles in the future as well as following in the footsteps of its parent company which offers more diverse powertrains.

"The problem we are facing is the perception from various parties that Hyundai N only focuses on EVs, which is not true," he said, quoted from Autocar, Monday, June 30.

It did not confirm specifically a number of these new models, but Hyundai has confirmed that it will respond to global EV requests that are slower than expected with a significantly expanded lineup of hybrid models and will also launch its first EV range-extender (REx) in the US next year.

"We will continue to move forward with electric vehicles and all other technology proposals that we can do," he added.

For pure gasoline drivers, Hyundai N has a model like i30 N which was introduced in 2017, then i20 N in 2020, and Elantra N a year later.

Then, Hyundai N started its work in providing high-performance EVs by launching Ioniq 5 N two years ago and Ioniq 6 N which will be revealed at the Goodwood Festival of Speed 2025 this July.

This division also proves itself to be reliable in designing other drivers by introducing N Vision 74, a concept whose internal power relies on hydrogen fuel cell engines.

Equipped with a battery with a capacity of 62.4 kWh, a hydrogen tank of 4.2 kg, and a Fuel Cell Stack of 85 kW, this car is capable of producing up to 670 Hp of power and 900 Nm of torque. The distance is also impressive, reaching 600 km in one charge.
