Mazda's Sales In The US Drop 18 Percent Last Month, Unique One Model Experienced An Increase Of More Than 600 Percent

JAKARTA - Mazda managed to close in May 2025 by successfully selling 28,937 cars in one of its largest markets, namely the United States (US).

Although overall sales decreased by 18.6 percent compared to the same period last year, a number of models experienced a significant increase.

This model is not the best-selling one, but the SUV managed to become the vehicle with the most drastic sales increase of all Mazda ranks in May 2025 of 683.1 percent.

However, keep in mind that Mazda CX-70 only made his US market debut in early 2024. This means that not all customers got their units last year.

Other Mazda SUVs such as CX-50 are also in demand by Uncle Sam's country customers, by successfully bagging sales of up to 7,188 units, an increase of up to 14 percent compared to last year's score.

Speaking of the best-selling model, the CX-5 is the prima donna for customers in the US by collecting up to 9,501 units (down 24.6 percent), then the CX-30 amounts to 4,329 units (down 47.9 percent), and the CX-90 with a total of 4,046 units (down 12 percent).

The only sports car provided by the manufacturer, MX-5 Miata, has decreased significantly by selling only 355 units or dropping by 62.9 percent compared to the previous year.

Even though last month's sales experienced a decline, Mazda could still be proud because the achievement in the January-May period managed to pocket 176,913 units, an increase of up to 6.1 percent in the US.

The CX-5 is still the best-selling model during the first five months of 2025 with 56,501 units (down 2.7 percent), the CX-50 at 38,243 units (up 39.6 percent), and the CX-30 at 31,622 units (down 28.9 percent).

Due to a drastic increase in last May, sales of CX-70 have collected 7,378 units in January-May this year or skyrocketed to 3,976.2 percent compared to the previous one.
