BAIC BJ40 Plus Officially Local Production As A Form Of Commitment To Support The National Automotive Industry

JAKARTA - PT JHL Internasional Automotive (PT JIO), an automotive assembly company & PT JIO Distribution Indonesia (PT JDI), a Brand Holder Agent (APM) of a BAIC four-wheeled motorized vehicle in the country announced a new milestone.

Today, to be precise, Monday, June 2, BAIC Indonesia officially launched the BAIC BJ40 Plus vehicle which was the result of the first local assembly in Indonesia, which was assembled at the facility, PT Handal Indonesia Motor (PT HIM) in Purwakarta, West Java.

The inaugural launch of local production from BAIC BJ40 Plus is a tangible manifestation of BAIC Indonesia's strong commitment to invest and support the growth of the national automotive industry. This strategic step is in line with the stages of the presence of the BAIC brand in Indonesia which has received full support from the BAIC principal in Beijing, China.

BAIC Indonesia's Chief Operating Officer, Dhani Yahya, said that, by locally assembling the BAIC BJ40 Plus, it is the first step of BAIC's seriousness to be present and develop in the Indonesian market.

"We have sent seven of our experts from PT. JDI and also our partners from PT. HIM, to study and analyze the BAIC BJ40 Plus assembly process directly at its factory in the off-road vehicle special assembly industry area in Beijing, China for two weeks some time ago," he said, during the launch of the local production of BJ40 Plus, in Purwakarta.

BAIC Indonesia believes that this production localization step will bring various benefits, including increased competitiveness. BAIC BJ40 Plus domestically assembled is believed to be able to offer better competitiveness in the Indonesian automotive market. Not only providing more competitive prices in the domestic market, but also expanding market absorption ranging from individual buyers, ministries or government institutions including state institutions, including the Indonesian National Army (TNI) and the Indonesian National Police (POLRI) as well as private entrepreneurs who need multipurpose vehicles in supporting the Company's operations.

Not only that, assembling locally also creates new jobs and improves labor expertise in the automotive industry. This will increase the competitiveness of Indonesian labor in the eyes of the international community.
