Jaecool J7 Is Ready To Enliven The Premium SUV Market But Official Prices Are Still Teka-Teki, This Is The Reason

JAKARTA Jaecoo's premium automotive brand, which is under the auspices of the Chery Group, has started to steal attention since the beginning of this year with the presence of its flagship model, Jaecool J7. This tough-style SUV comes in three variants: FWD, AWD, and the highest variant with Super Hybrid System (SHS) technology.

At the Indonesia International Motor Show (IIMS) 2025, Jaecool started opening the J7 prebook with a price range of IDR 499 million to IDR 599 million. However, until now, the official price has not been announced, in contrast to the group's brother, Chery Tiggo 8 CSH, which has launched first at a price of IDR 499 million on the road in Jakarta.

This makes the public wonder: When will Jaecool J7 really be present in the garage of Indonesian consumers?

Responding to this, Jaecool Indonesia's Head of Sales, Augustian Ferikles, revealed that his party was still considering a number of things before releasing official prices.

"Why haven't we launched the price yet? Because we want to ensure the readiness of the dealer network first, so that consumers can get the best experience when buying," said Feri, her nickname, when met at the inauguration ceremony of the Jaecool Puri Indah dealer, West Jakarta, Wednesday, May 28.

In addition to the readiness of dealers, Feri said that his party is also currently formulating the right price strategy so that Jaecool J7 has a clear position compared to Tiggo 8 CSH.

"We are formulating prices in order to create strong differentiations between J7 and other products in one group," he added.

Although the official price has not been announced, the market response to Jaecool J7 turned out to be very positive. Since its introduction at IIMS last February, consumer enthusiasm has exceeded expectations.

"The number of orders since IIMS until now is quite surprising, beyond our expectations," said Feri, although he has not mentioned the exact number.

As a hybrid SUV, Jaecool J7 offers a combination of performance and efficiency. Thanks to SHS technology, this vehicle combines 1.6 liter turbo engines with electric motors, which allow fuel-efficient motors but remain powered. With a pure electric distance of up to 90 km, J7 is suitable for daily use in cities and long-distance travel.

With a dashing design, advanced technology, and a focus on urban comfort and off-road capabilities, Jaecool J7 seems ready to be a serious challenger in the country's premium SUV segment. Now, just waiting for one important thing: the official price that is ready to be announced in the near future.
