After Europe, Toyota Urban Cruiser Will Be Marketed In India

JAKARTA - A compact electric car, the All-New Toyota Urban Cruiser, first appeared in Europe in early 2025 through the Brussels Motor Show.

This small crossover is indeed the first target to the European market before it will take the floor on a number of the largest markets.

One of the areas that is the main market is India and it is scheduled that this car will soon be sold in the country after its introduction to Bharat Mobility Global Expo.

Launching from Gaadiwaadi, Tuesday, May 27, the company has confirmed that this car will go on sale in the second half of this calendar year.

However, it is estimated that Urban Cruiser will debut in India at the end of this year considering that his brother, Suzuki eVitara, will start marketing in September.

It is known, Toyota Urban Cruiser carries the same platform as Suzuki eVitara, which is 27PL by taking a number of similar style signs so that the appearance and technology look similar.

The Urban Cruiser is designed with a compact dimension that is 4,285 mm long, 1,800 mm wide, and 1,640 mm high, with a wheelbase of 2,700 mm, the wheelbase is 140 mm longer than the Yaris Cross.

Entering the cabin, the interior is very distinctive in the style of Toyota which is equipped with a low instrument panel, as well as a rather high sitting position. There is also an ambient lighting of 12 colors, a 360-degree camera, and a 10.1-inch central touch screen that blends and a 10.25-inch instrument panel.

Not only that, this car is also equipped with JBL speakers, a sunset that makes the cabin look more spacious, until the driver's seat is electric. This car is also equipped with safety features including a pre-collection system, adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning and lane keeping assist.

This car is available in front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive configurations, with three power outputs and two choices of lithium-iron-phosphate (LFP) batteries. The FWD model offers 142 hp (106 kW) or 172 hp (128 kW), while the AWD version obtains 182 hp (135 kW) from double-motor setup. Battery options include units 49 kWh (only FWD) and units 61 kWh (FWD and AWD).

Although Toyota is still silent about its travel distance, it is estimated that the battery option has a distance of about 500 km in one full charge.
