Automotive expert at the Bandung Institute of Technology Yannes Martinus Pasaribu gave several important steps that should be taken before leaving the vehicle.

"First, make sure to clean the vehicle thoroughly, including the bottom and the sidelines of the body to avoid corrosion or damage caused by dirt, for example the soil, which accumulates," he said as quoted by ANTARA.

In addition, Yannes emphasized that it is also important to fill the fuel tank to the full. This can prevent condensation from forming which can cause carat in the tank.

If leaving the vehicle for a longer time, the fuel stabilizer can be one solution so that the quality of gasoline is maintained. This will help keep the fuel fresh for a long time to prevent corrosion.

"Add fuel stabilizer if storage is more than a month to maintain the quality of gasoline," Yannes said.

The next step is to stop the flow of vehicle electricity by releasing the battery terminal. This will prevent the battery from experiencing problems such as soak or tongs of power when it is not used for a long time.

To maintain the condition of the tires, lift the car using a jack or place it on a wooden board. This is to avoid weakening the tires due to too long static load.

In addition, exhaust caps and ventilation holes with fabrics or plastics to prevent the entry of squirrels or insects.

"We should spray the engine area with aromatic flavors to avoid nested rats and have the potential to bite the cables in the car engine room area," Yannes added.

Finally, store the vehicle in a shady and dry place, use a breathable vehicle wrapper to protect vehicles from dust and UV light without inhibiting air circulation.
