Rely On EX5, In Reasons Geely Is Optimistic To Return To The Indonesian Automotive Market

JAKARTA - An automotive brand from China, Geely has officially set foot again in the Indonesian automotive industry by introducing Geely EX5 as its first environmentally friendly product.

Entering through Geely Auto Indonesia, the company also participated in the Indonesia International Motor Show (IIMS) 2025 by inaugurating the price for EX5 worth IDR 475 million for the Pro variant and IDR 515 million for the Max type. However, Geely offered a special price offer for IIMS 2025 with a tag of IDR 465 million type Pro and IDR 505 million for the Max variant.

Before showing its existence again in Indonesia, the manufacturer has many considerations to bring the product.

Geely Auto Indonesia Brand Director Yusuf Anshori said that his party had considered several factors so that they dared to return to the market, one of which was government support that supports the development of electric vehicles.

"The consideration is that the company sees the development of the market in Indonesia, so here it is quite promising. In addition, the government's support for electrification is quite good and makes the vehicle market environmentally friendly," said Anshori when met by the media in the middle of the exhibition, Kemayoran, Jakarta, Friday, February 21.

In addition, he explained that Geely was present in Indonesia with a number of differences compared to a few years ago. Currently, manufacturers come as principals in Indonesia and not through distributors.

"Geeely has indeed come to Indonesia, but it is not from a direct principal but a distributor. Now we come as Geely Auto," added Anshori.

Not only that, Anshori also revealed that Geely has more mature readiness from technology to products offered around the world.

"If we compare with the current one, Geely has more prepared technology and its development is quite significant and ecosystem-based, Geely is also globally stronger by overseeing several brands such as Volvo, Zeekr, Lotus, Polestar, and Proton," concluded Anshori.
