Mazda Will Bring Model Updates This Year To The Indonesian Market

JAKARTA - The sole agent holding the Mazda brand in Indonesia, PT Eurokars Motor Indonesia (EMI) inaugurated its participation in the 2025 Indonesia International Motor Show (IIMS) annual automotive event.

At this event, the manufacturer exhibited model lines such as CX-5, CX-8, and most recently, CX-80 which launched in Indonesia in mid-January.

Mazda CX-80 is the first product launched by EMI in 2025. This car carries a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) technology that is known to have more efficient fuel efficiency.

Even though it has launched the CX-80, it does not make this Japanese manufacturer complacent in presenting the latest products in Indonesia.

PT EMI's Chief Operating Officer (COO) Ricky Thio said his party would launch a number of models after the CX-80, including model updates that have been sold at this time. Unfortunately, he did not mention the details of his latest car.

"We have just launched CX-80 and maybe there will be minor changes in some of the current models. We can't disclose what model yet, but we will report it later," Ricky said during the IIMS 2025 event.

In addition, Mazda also plans to build a factory to assemble its vehicles locally in Indonesia which has been announced since the middle of last year. Unfortunately, this certainty cannot be revealed further

"About the factory, we'll just have to wait and tell you later because the media must be invited," added Ricky.

Previously, in early March 2024 Mazda announced a significant step by establishing an Assembly Center in Indonesia, which marks a new era in partnership between Mazda Motor Corporation (MC) and PT EMI.

PT EMI estimates that the compact crossover will become the main segment category produced in this facility, considering that this segment category is most in demand by Indonesian consumers.
