Just January, BYD Has Selled 300,538 Vehicles And Exports Soared 80 Percent

JAKARTA - Build Your Dream (BYD) continues to be on the right track to become the leader of the global automotive market. The proof is that it was only January that the Chinese brand made extraordinary sales.

Quoting from the Carnewschina page, Monday, February 3, BYD sold 300,538 electric vehicles in January, up 47.5 percent from the same month last year but down 41.8 percent from December 2024.

If detailed, BYD has sold 125,377 pure electric vehicles, up 19.1 percent compared to January 2024. Meanwhile, PHEV sales reached 171,069 units, an increase of 78.7 percent of the same month last year.

Of the 300,538 units, 296,446 are passenger vehicles and 4,092 are commercial and bus vehicles. On the other hand, BYD's exports also jumped to 66,336 units, up 83.3 percent from last year, making it a new monthly record.

However, for the record, the BYD sales data includes sub-brands also consisting of Denza, Fang Cheng Bao, and Yangwang. If in more detail, Yangwang sold 286 vehicles in January, while for Fang Cheng Bao sold 6,219 vehicles. Then there is Denza selling 11,720 vehicles.

BYD's Implementation In China And Global

BYD developed its exports from China, but also electric vehicle factories outside the country. In July last year, the company completed its electric vehicle factory in Thailand with an annual capacity of 150,000 units, and by the end of 2025, the company plans to complete another large factory with a capacity of 150,000 units in Indonesia.

Regarding the assembly of BYD factories in Indonesia, production will begin in early 2026. But it has not been detailed in more detail what models will be assembled in Indonesia, considering that currently BYD has presented a variety of electric cars in various segments.
