Used Car Market During 2024: Two Most Wanted MPV Toyota And Honda CR-V

JAKARTA - Buying used cars is one option that needs to be considered if prospective vehicle users have not been able to buy new cars on the market. This is because the selling value of used cars has a low price so it is easier to own.

In the era of economic uncertainty and rapid changes in the automotive industry, many people began to see the values and benefits contained in a quality used vehicle.

In addition, used cars originating from Japan are still the prima donna for used car consumers during 2024.

OLXmobbi Director Agung Iskandar said that the three brands most sought after on the used car sale and purchase page were Toyota, the second was Honda, and Suzuki who was in third place.

"Based on existing search users OLX for one year 2024, the most searched cars are Toyota, the second Honda, and the third Suzuki," Agung said at a discussion event on the Automotive Journalists Forum (FORWOT) themed Automotive Financing Opportunities in 2025 at SCBD, Jakarta, Friday, January 24.

Agung also explained that MPV cars such as Toyota Avanza are still the most searched model, followed by Kijang Innova. However, another interesting thing is that Honda CR-V is in third place.

From the car, the most searched model is the Toyota Avanza which is quite tight with Innova. However, what is quite unique is the Honda CR-V which is in third place," added Agung.

Agung explained that the phenomenon in Honda CR-V can occur because the number of car supplies is quite large and many users decide to sell this SUV to buy newer vehicles so that the price becomes affordable.

According to OLX monitoring, in 2024 the supply of CR-V cars is quite large or many users of this car decide to sell it to a new car. This also creates a new phenomenon because the used CR-V now has a fairly affordable price of up to IDR 300 million. The price was fluctuating, but now it is more stable," added Agung.

Meanwhile, Agung said that the most sought-after car segments by the public were MPV and the second. While in third place there is a hatchback and LCGC which is surprisingly in fourth position.

"Based on the type of car, the most searched for are MPV and the second SUV with a difference of one percent, while the third is a hatchback and the LCGC is in fourth position," said Agung.

He explained that LCGC experienced a decline in the search for used cars because there were not many supplies from the model.

The LCGC model types are also not in much supply, now there are Daihatsu Sigra, Toyota Calya, Daihatsu Ayla, Toyota Agya, and there are also Honda Brio. In the past there were Datsun Go and Suzuki Karimun and they were already discontinuous, so now there are only 4-5 types on the market, "concluded Agung.
