JAKARTA - The Indonesian automotive industry has arrived by one of the brands from China, Jaecoo, by bringing the J7 SHS model as its first product for the Indonesian market.
In order to strengthen its steps and commitments in the country's market, Jaecoo will present a local assembly facility located in Purwakarta, precisely owned by the company PT Handal Indonesia Motor (HIM).
The factory was built in Purwakarta, West Java, which is adjacent to the toll road at KM70 to the east by providing various assembly lines for Jaecoo vehicles.
Deputy President Commissioner of PT HIM, Jongkie Sugiarto, the assembly site consists of facilities such as painting shops, welding, and testing lines to accommodate the production of Jaecool cars in Indonesia.
"This consists of a painting shop, plastic painting shop, then an welding, and there is a testing line function in this assembly," said Sugiarto in his explanation to reporters at SCBD, Jakarta, Monday, January 20.
He also added that the facility will be completed in July 2025 and the Jaecoo car will begin to be assembled at the factory afterwards.
"This building will be completed in July 2025 and will be fully operational there," added Sugiarto.

With Jaecoo deciding to assemble his vehicle locally (CKD), it is hoped that it can be one of the drivers for the advancement of the national automotive industry and can reduce prices compared to imported products.

Jaecool also introduced the J7 SUV as its first product in the country's market with Super Hybrid System technology which is a mainstay for Jaecool.
