Honda CR-V Will Come With Offroad Variant?

JAKARTA - Honda plans to present a new variant to existing models for the United States (US) market, one of which is a refresher on CR-V.

Quoting from Carscoops, Friday, January 17, the well-known automotive brand from Japan confirmed that it would present a Trailsport or offroad version of this medium-sized SUV. This type focuses on the appearance and driving ability in all terrains.

Although the details of the leak are not yet known, it is estimated that CR-V Trailsport will receive a number of the same equipment as the Passport Trailsport, namely the presence of steel plate skids, orange hooks, and several elements being revised.

Not only focusing on its appearance, the Honda CR-V Trailsport will also come with tough tires for all terrain, stronger suspensions to be tested on the ground, and much more.

It is estimated that Honda will use the same approach as Nissan in presenting Rogue Rock Creek, which is to bring off-road cars with finesse or appearances that are not too extreme and focus more on their performances.

Apart from CR-V, the HR-V model will also receive a refresher for the US market. The manufacturer did not explain it specifically, but ensured that this car would come with the latest style and technology improvements.

It is hoped that the refresher of HR-V and CR-V can increase Honda sales in the US after they successfully pocketed sales of 1,423,857 units during 2024, an increase of 8.8 percent.

The CR-V model remains the best-selling for Uncle Sam's country market with a sales book of 402,791 units (up 11.4 percent), followed by Civic totaling 242,005 units (up 20.8 percent), and Accord with a total of 162,723 units (down 17.8 percent).

Meanwhile, HR-V is in the top five of Honda's best-selling products in the US with 151,468 units, up 23.9 percent, and Pilots with 141,245 units, an increase of 28.1 percent.
