JAKARTA - With the increasing popularity of electric cars, a comprehensive understanding of the factors that affect the performance of the batteries is crucial for consumers. One of them is about the impact of weather on the performance of electric car batteries.

Responding to this, PT Hyundai LG Indonesia Professional of Cell Technology Assembly Muhammad Afif, said that the weather did not have a significant impact on battery performance and depended on the driving style of its users.

"The weather doesn't have much effect, because the packaging of EV batteries is now very good. So the main difference comes from how to drive it," Afif said during a dinner with the media in Semarang, Tuesday, October 8.

Meanwhile, the Head of Public Relations of PT Hyundai Motors Indonesia Badminton Simanjuntak, added that there are several variables that affect the performance of EV batteries other than the weather.

"There are many factors that influence, weather, driving methods, regenerative braking, so many factors can affect its freedom," explained my brother.

Furthermore, PT HMID Sugiartono Technical Expert explained that hot weather can affect EV performance because indirectly other devices such as cooling will work harder than others.

For example, when the weather is hot, it requires a higher cabin air conditioner. This means that the outside temperature is higher, the need for cabin cooling is higher, it will reduce the distance traveled by the battery," he explained.

However, he also emphasized the importance of the role of drivers in driving electric vehicles so that the distance to travel to their cars becomes more optimal and longer.

"It is necessary not to drive aggressively like stepping on the accelerator pedal suddenly or suddenly braking," concluded Sugiartono.
