BMW Group Reports Recording Sales In 2023, Asia Becomes The Highest Market

JAKARTA - BMW Group managed to close the 2023 book with phenomenal achievements in its sales sector. Overall, the company managed to sell 2,555,341 units of vehicles as well as the most so far consisting of BMW, Mini, and Rolls-Royce cars, an increase of 6.5 percent from the previous year.

"Customers around the world appreciate our strong brands, BMW, MINI, and Rolls-Royce and in particular different choice of driving technology across a series of BMW Group products," said Jochen Goller, Board of Management Customer, Brands, and Sales BMW AG, on the company's website, Tuesday, January 9.

Of the total, cars with BMW brands recorded sales of up to 2,253,835 units of vehicles, an increase of 7.3 percent compared to the previous period. Meanwhile, products under high performance under the 'M' division have sold as many as 202,530 vehicles, an increase of 14.3 percent.

Meanwhile, other brands such as Mini managed to record sales figures totaling 295,474 units, an increase of 0.9 percent from 2022. Its luxury brand, Rolls-Royce, recorded sales of 6,032 vehicles, an increase of 0.2 percent.

For the electrification sector, the group's company recorded sales of up to 566,486 units, an increase of 30.6 percent from before. Of the total, 376,183 units of them were Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) or jumped to 74.4 percent from the previous year.

Asia became the region with the most sales from the BMW Group during 2023 totaling 1,070,142 units, an increase of 4.1 percent. The positive tension was followed by Europe with a total of 942,805 units (an increase of 7.5 percent) and China with 824,932 vehicles (an increase of 4.2 percent).

This parent company is optimistic about maintaining this trend in the BEV sector during 2024. They will provide 18 BEV models that cover all segments so as to strengthen the company's commitment to be more stable in the environmentally friendly sector.

We expect to sell more than half a million fully electric vehicles by 2024, concluded Goller.
