The Premiere League 2 Game Runs Smoothly By Following Strict Proces

JAKARTA - Minister of Youth and Sports (Menpora) Zainudin Amali said the 2021 League 2 Season competition had started at the Manahan Stadium, Solo, Central Java, while still implementing strict health protocols (Prokes).

"We have seen the Persis Solo match against PSG, which was the opening match of the League 2 competition that was packaged by PSSI and PT Liga Indonesia Baru (LIB), during the COVID-19 pandemic," said the Minister of Youth and Sports after watching the Persis Solo match against PSG Pati, at the Stadium Manahan Solo, Sunday night.

According to the Minister of Youth and Sports, League 1 has succeeded and now League 2 has started by continuing to apply strict procedures. "We, by implementing the program, mean to help the government's efforts in dealing with COVID-19, but also to provide opportunities for the public for sports activities, especially football," he said.

He hopes that the League 2 competition will continue to be fun to watch on television with the same quality as the previous matches.

In addition, he also hopes for public support not to watch together at the stadium, and just watch at home. This is highly appreciated by the government.

On that occasion, the Minister of Youth and Sports expressed his gratitude to PSSI and PT LIB and the clubs who have shown enthusiasm. PSSI and PT LIB have given their best for the 2021 Liga 2 season.

In addition, he also appreciated the extraordinary support from the Minister of SOEs Erick Thohir for sports as a whole, especially football.

"We appreciate SOEs who are committed to supporting sports in the country," he said.

Zainudin explained the reason for the start of Liga 2 from the Solo Manahan Stadium, because this place is one that will be used for the U-20 World Cup in 2023. The Manahan Stadium is prepared for the FIFA U-20 CUP which will be participated by 23 countries.

Meanwhile, SOE Minister Erick Thohir explained that his party must be optimistic about the revival of national football. What is clear is that the Government and PSSI are working together to advance football.

Erick said his party together with the Menpora focused on 17 sports, including football. The existence of an exciting League 1 and League 2 which is no less exciting will be the foundation for building a National Team. PSSI under the leadership of M. Iriawan Indonesia's football achievements are increasing.
