JAKARTA - The holding of the 2026 MilkLife Archery Challenge National Championship (Kejurnas) will be one of the important barometers in the map of national archery athlete development.

The competition, which was held thanks to a collaboration between the Bakti Olahraga Djarum Foundation, MilkLife, and the Indonesian Archery Association (PB Perpani), took place at the Supersoccer Arena, Kudus, Central Java, on July 22-29, 2026.

A total of 906 athletes from 29 provinces in Indonesia took part in the title and proved themselves as the seeds of Indonesia's mainstay archers. The number of participants increased from 876 athletes who participated in the previous year.

Chair of the Organizing Committee Vera Eka Wardani said that in addition to increasing participants, this year's competition will also be very competitive so that it is expected to produce the best athletes who can become Indonesia's hope in the future.

"It is supported by an internationally standard venue so that it gives junior athletes the experience of facing world-class competitions early on," Vera said in an official statement received by the media.

The MilkLife Archery Challenge Junior National Games is an ongoing phase initiated by the Bakti Olahraga Djarum Foundation in developing the potential of the Indonesian archery sport.

Previously, there was the MilkLife Archery Challenge which targeted students of Madrasah Ibtidaiyah (MI) and Elementary Schools (SD) for the Central Java region and its surroundings.

Vera said that the implementation of competitions at various levels at an early age is an effort to build a foundation for tiered archery training, which is expected to find quality seeds.

"So that this sport can speak a lot at the international level. Hopefully we can produce new female warriors like the era of three female warriors who have won silver medals at the Seoul Olympics," he said.

MilkLife Archery Challenge Kejurnas Junior 2026 competes in the national division (U-10, U-13, U-15, and U-18), recurve (U-13, U-15, and U-18), and compound (U-13, U-15, and U-18).

For the national and recurve divisions, the matches use the set point system, namely archers collect the most points in three series to ensure their move to the next round. Meanwhile, for the compound division, the assessment uses the accumulation of the most scores from five series to determine the winner in each round.

All athletes first undergo a qualifying round to determine their ranking as the basis for the elimination chart. After that, they then compete head to head until the final match.
