JAKARTA - Tyson Fury managed to secure a not too striking knockout (KO) victory over Mariusz Wach to keep his chances of facing a blockbuster duel against fellow British boxer, Anthony Joshua.
The duel between Fury and Mariusz Wach took place at the Max Muay Thai Stadium, Pattaya, Thailand, on Friday, July 24, 2026. The fighter nicknamed the Gypsy King dominated the fight over seven rounds in front of no more than 1,500 spectators.
The 46-year-old Wach finally surrendered on his stool at the start of the eighth round. The victory was Fury's 36th win in his career.
The victory over Wach brought Fury closer to fighting Joshua, who will also undergo a comeback duel against Albanian boxer Kristian Prenga in Saudi Arabia on Saturday, July 25, 2026.

Previously, Fury was expected to fly directly to Jeddah to watch Joshua's fight. The two were even said to have the opportunity to announce the long-awaited duel in the ring if Joshua was able to defeat Prenga.
However, Fury confirmed he would not be in Jeddah. The 37-year-old boxer chose to return to England to be with his wife and children after spending the last six of the last seven months away from his family.
"I didn't go to Jeddah. I came home to see my wife and kids. I'll get back together and hopefully we can sign that big fight next week," Fury said.
The location of the duel between Fury and Joshua is still a question mark. Joshua's promoter, Eddie Hearn, said the boxer's contract requires the fight to be held in England. However, there is speculation that the duel could take place in the United States.
"We'll go wherever the fight is held. Who knows? It could be in Las Vegas, New York, Ireland, or London. Who knows where the fight will take place?" said Fury.
