JAKARTA - The Central Management of the Indonesian Volleyball Association (PP PBVSI) has set a target for the Indonesian National Team (Timnas) to defend the title in the SEA V Cup which will roll again next week.

The Garuda squad departed for the tournament directly released by the Deputy General Chair II of the PBVSI, Djoko Sardono, at the Kunarto Police General Volleyball Training Center, Sentul, Bogor, West Java, on Thursday, July 9, 2026.

Djoko in his speech hopes that Indonesia can perform well according to what was shown at the 2026 AVC Men's Volleyball Cup which ended with the title after defeating South Korea.

"All players who play must feel proud to be able to wear the Indonesian National Team jersey because you are all heroes of the nation through achievements in sports," said Djoko in a written statement from PBVSI.

Farhan Halim and his colleagues' victory at the AVC was a good capital. At that time, the squad coached by Reidel Toiran managed to beat South Korea with a landslide score of 3-0 (34-32, 25-16, and 25-23).

Reidel admitted that he was very motivated by the target given by the national volleyball parent, especially there were additional senior players, such as Dio Zulfikri, Sigit Ardian, and Fahreza Rakha Abhinaya.

"The arrival of senior players adds to our strength which will face two tournaments in the SEA V Cup as well as the 2026 Asian Games. This is an additional strength for us to be able to compete and realize our goals," he said.

Farhan, who serves as captain, also welcomed the presence of three senior players. He assessed that the arrival of senior players made the team composition solid and made the internal conditions in the team more compact.

"It's nice because they also take care of us young players. In addition, I think it's very good for the Indonesian Volleyball Team to face the 2026 SEA V Cup," he said.

The Indonesian National Volleyball Team will play the first round of the SEA V Cup in Candon City, Philippines, on July 15-19, 2026. At the event, the Garuda Squad is included in Pool A along with the Philippines and Cambodia.

All players will depart for the Philippines on Saturday, July 12, 2026. The Garuda squad will only start the fight on Thursday, July 16, 2026, against Cambodia and the next match will be presented on Friday, July 17, 2026.
