JAKARTA - Real Madrid announced that defender Antonio Rudiger has extended his contract at the Santiago Bernabeu until 2027 on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, local time.

Rudiger's contract was due to expire this summer, but Real Madrid have extended his stay until at least next year.

The 33-year-old German has been at Real Madrid since 2022, making 182 appearances and winning eight trophies, including one LaLiga and one Champions League.

After two trophy-less seasons, Rudiger's contract extension is the latest act of what is set to be a busy summer at Real Madrid.

Rudiger started his career at VfB Stuttgart before joining Roma in 2015, initially on loan and then permanently in 2016.

In 2017, he moved to Chelsea, where he won the Champions League in 2021, before signing for Real Madrid after his contract expired in 2022.

During his time at the Bernabeu, he has been a mainstay in the backline under various coaches, winning LaLiga and the Champions League in 2024 and the Copa del Rey in 2023.

Meanwhile, Los Blancos have confirmed the appointment of Jose Mourinho for a second period as coach after the departure of Alvaro Arbeloa.

Earlier this week, they also announced the signing of Chelsea and Spain left-back Marc Cucurella in a deal worth 55 million euros.

ESPN also previously reported that Ibrahima Konate, Denzel Dumfries, and Bernardo Silva would follow in Cucurella's footsteps.

Center back Konate and midfielder Silva were officially announced by Real Madrid on Wednesday and Thursday, June 17 & 18, 2026 WIB, after their contracts with Liverpool and Manchester City expired at the end of this month.

"Real Madrid and Ibrahima Konate have reached an agreement for him to become a Real Madrid player for the next four seasons, until June 30, 2030."

"Then, Real Madrid and Bernardo Silva have reached an agreement to become Real Madrid players for the next two seasons, until June 30, 2028," read the Los Blancos statement.

Meanwhile, Real Madrid also plans to activate the 20 million euro clause in Dumfries' contract to recruit the Inter Milan right-back.
