JAKARTA - The Indonesian 5 X 5 Women's Basketball National Team has called additional players to participate in preparations for the 2026 Asian Games. A total of five new names were called to participate in the national training center (pelatnas).

The additional players have been in the training camp at the CLS Kertajaya Surabaya GOR since Monday, June 15, 2026. They are Nurlaela Azhara, Anggita Yuliani Putri, Jesslyne Jaya Wiyanto, Pegi Maulani, and Anastasya Virly.

"The coaching team saw that there were several potential talents during the Campus League who had never been called up to the national team. This is also a reference for the future because the majority of those called up are young players," said Handoyo, who serves as the Manager of the Indonesian 5 X 5 Women's Basketball Team.

Anggita is currently 19 years old, Jesslyne Jaya Wijayanto and Anastasya are 20 years old, and Pegi Maulani as of April 18, 2026 is 21 years old.

The Central Board of Directors of the Indonesian Basketball Association (DPP Perbasi) previously through the National Team Agency (BTN) had called 24 players for a training camp for the four-year event.

From the composition of the players, there are also several names that are plotted to play in the Indonesian Women's 3 X 3 Basketball Team.

Handoyo said that currently there are still about 16 players who have not been added with additional players. In addition, there are also players who will come from abroad to join the 5 X 5 and 3 X 3 squads.

"So far the progress is going well. The coaching team has also prepared a training program to match the composition of the players," he said.

The 2026 Asian Games will take place from September 19 to October 4. The multi-branch sports festival will be attended by approximately 46 countries from the Asian region.
