JAKARTA - World champion Fabio Quartararo has prepared something special for fans for the 2026 MotoGP race taking place at his home at the Bugatti Circuit, Le Mans, France, this weekend.
The most prestigious motorcycle racing competition at Le Mans will take place on May 8-10, 2026. This is the fifth series in this year's race calendar and Quartararo will get full support from his own public supporters.
"After the hard work we did in Jerez, I'm curious to see how I feel on this track. I also have something special for the fans. So, I'm looking forward to it," said Quartararo, quoted by Crash.
The rider who won the MotoGP world championship title in 2021 came to Le Mans this weekend after he only finished in 14th place in the latest race held in Jerez, Spain.
However, the 27-year-old rider was much more competitive in the Jerez test which took place earlier this week. He managed to finish in seventh place, an important capital for racing at home.
Quartararo said that racing at home is always special for him in every racing season. He admitted that the fans' support always gave him extra motivation to perform better.
"Le Mans has always been one of the most special weekends of the year for me. The support from the fans is incredible and gives me extra motivation every time I race here," he said.
As for the surprise he has prepared for this weekend, it will most likely involve some sort of special livery for Quartararo's final appearance at the French MotoGP as a Yamaha rider before his move to Honda next year.
Quartararo managed to get pole position in last year's race, followed by fourth place in the Sprint Race and then lost points due to an accident in the main race.
