Megawati Appears Brilliant, Pertamina Enduro Conquer Gresik Phonska in the 2026 Proliga Grand Final

YOGYAKARTA - Megawati Hangestri showed a brilliant performance when she led Jakarta Pertamina Enduro (JPE) to conquer Gresik Phonska Plus Pupuk Indonesia 3-1 (19-25, 25-19, 25-19, 25-21) in the first leg of the 2026 Proliga Grand Final at GOR Amongrogo, Yogyakarta, Friday, April 24, 2026. The victory that made the defending champion of this women's team have valuable capital to play the second match, Saturday, April 25, 2026.

Pertamina Enduro appeared with full strength since the first set. Megawati became the mainstay to get points because Pertamina Enduro hopes to win in this first leg. Together with Irina Voronkova, and Wilma Salas, they put pressure on the Phonska Plus defense.

However, the coordination on the field was shaky at the beginning of the match, which was then taken advantage of by Phonska Plus. As a result, both teams chased each other until the middle of the set. Even Phonska Plus was able to close the first set with 25-19.

Entering the second set, Pertamina Enduro coach Bullent Karsioglu changed the pattern of attack. Tysa Amallya began to be more varied in distributing the ball to Irina Voronkova and Wilma Salas.

On the other hand, Phonska Plus had difficulty getting out of the opponent's service pressure. Even though Yulis Indah fell and got up on the defense line, Megawati et al. were still unstoppable and retaliated with a score of 25-19 which made the score 1-1.

However, Voronkova's figure once again became a nightmare for Gresik's defense. The Russian player appeared very dominant at critical points. Through long rallies and solid defense, they ended Phonska Plus' resistance with 25-21.

With this result, JPE has an aggregate advantage of 1-0 over Phonska Plus. This victory is a very big psychological capital for JPE to lock in the title of champion in the next meeting.

"This certainly motivates the players to finish the second leg better. Obviously, we have to take one step at a time," said Karsioglu, who admitted that the hot weather meant that the players had to adapt well. Especially foreign players who have to compete with the Indonesian tropical weather.

"Even though the weather is quite hot, we can create good conditions to win," he said. For tomorrow's match, we are ready to make a surprise," said the Turkish coach.

Meanwhile, Phonska Plus coach Alessandro Lodi admitted that his team had to admit Pertamina Enduro's advantage. According to him, the opposing team deserved to win.

"In terms of results, we are really disappointed. However, we must admit that the opponent played much better. They deserved to win. While we played not well enough this time," said Lodi.

"We have to play better in the second leg. However, playing well is not enough to win the match. Even if we lose, it's not because we played badly," he said.

According to him, mental factors also affect the performance of players. When they are behind, they lose focus and are disappointed, so they vent their anger on their own colleagues.

"This must be improved. If they still play with such conditions, it's better for them to go home," he said firmly. Yes, Phonska Plus must work hard to equalize the score in order to impose the third leg.
