PBSI Releases 20 Players for the 2026 Thomas & Uber Cup

JAKARTA - The Indonesian Badminton Association (PBSI) officially released the squad to face the 2026 Thomas & Uber Cup. A total of 20 names, which are a combination of experienced players and young talents, were sent to participate in the tournament.

The badminton tournament for the women's and men's doubles categories is scheduled to take place on April 24-May 3, 2026 at the Forum Horsens, Horsens, Denmark. PBSI also decided to establish the squad early as part of the team's preparation series.

Head of PBSI's Coaching and Achievement Division, Eng Hian, said their main focus was to ensure the team's overall readiness to face the biennial tournament.

"We see overall readiness as the main factor. Each player who is selected is expected to carry out his role well and contribute to the team," Eng Hian said in an official statement received by the media.

The composition of the squad that will represent Indonesia consists of 10 female players and 10 male players. This squad was determined through a thorough evaluation process by considering various aspects, including performance, physical and mental readiness, and team strategy needs.

The status as the second seed for this tournament is held by the Thomas Cup team. Thus, they carry the burden of being able to give the best results for Indonesia after being runners-up in the previous two consecutive editions.

"Meanwhile, for the Uber team, our focus is to ensure that the team can perform optimally since the group stage while continuing to build team confidence and cohesion to move on to the next stage," said Eng Hian.

In the Thomas team, the names of experienced players who will leave include Jonatan Christie, Fajar Alfian, and Anthony Sinisuka Ginting. They are accompanied by young players such as Alwi Farhan, Raymond Indra, Nikolaus Joaquin, and Mohammad Zaki Ubaidillah.

As for the Uber team, names such as Putri Kusuma Wardani and Siti Fadia Silva Ramadhanti will lead the team. They are supported by young players such as halita Ramadhani Wiryawan and Ni Kadek Dhinda Amartya Pratiwi.

The Indonesian squad is scheduled to depart for Horsens, Denmark, on April 16, 2026 to undergo training together and an acclimatization program ahead of the match.
