Marco Bezzecchi Back to the Top of the 2026 MotoGP Standings

JAKARTA - Marco Bezzecchi again climbed to the top of the 2026 MotoGP standings after an outstanding performance in the United States (US) MotoGP which took place at the Circuit of the Americas (COTA), Texas, on Monday, March 30, 2026, WIB morning.

The rider who defends the Aprilia Racing team came out as the fastest in the third race with a time of 40 minutes 50.653 seconds. He was ahead of his teammate, Jorge Martin, who was in second place, and Pedro Acosta (KTM) on the third podium.

This result confirms Bezzecchi's dominance so far this season from the three races that have been held. In addition to successfully extending his dominance on the track, the Italian rider also officially broke the legendary record held by Jorge Lorenzo.

The victory in the US makes Bezzecchi now holds the record as the rider who has led the most laps in a row in MotoGP history. He is recorded to have 121 consecutive laps to surpass Lorenzo's record of 103 laps which has lasted since 2015.

In addition, he also became the first rider to have five consecutive victories in the modern era of MotoGP after Valentino Rossi and Marc Marquez. The five consecutive victories include the last two series of last season.

Bezzecchi's victory in Austin was not easy to achieve. He started the race from fourth position due to a penalty during Qualifying and had physical contact with Acosta resulting in damage to the rear aerodynamic part of his RS-GP motorcycle.

However, the damage did not actually prevent Bezzecchi from continuing to run fast and leaving his opponents behind. He finally managed to lock the highest podium to complete the victory in Thailand and Brazil.

Aprilia further confirmed its dominance this season after Martin finished in second place. Martin, who won the Sprint Race session the day before, successfully overtook Acosta on lap 14 to secure the first-second podium for the Noale manufacturer.

From the Ducati camp, they are still struggling to catch up with Aprilia's speed. Fabio Di Giannantonio was the best Ducati rider by finishing in fourth place, followed by Marc Marquez in fifth place after starting the race with a long lap penalty.

Bezzecchi now has a total of 81 points from the three races that have taken place in this year's calendar. He is four points ahead of Jorge Martin in second place and 21 points ahead of Acosta who follows in third place.
