JAKARTA - The Indonesian Bouldering Federation (FPTI) stated that it would provide maximum protection for athletes who are victims of violence and sexual harassment. The identities of the victims will continue to be kept secret to avoid stigma from the community.
"We provide maximum protection for the athletes (victims). Therefore, their identities are also kept secret. They should not be victims twice because of the stigma in society," said FPTI Chairman Yenny Wahid after attending the 74th anniversary celebration of the Indonesian Olympic Committee at the Ritz Carlton Jakarta, Wednesday, March 11, 2026.
Yenny Wahid said that her party had formed a fact-finding team (TPF) internally. The team has scheduled a summons for the alleged perpetrator on Thursday, March 12, 2026.
"We will still form a fact-finding team. The team has sent a summons to the alleged perpetrator, and has also contacted him via WhatsApp," he said.
The FTPI's efforts have the full support of Minister of Sports and Youth Erick Thohir, who hopes that the formation of this fact-finding team will make the case even brighter and ensure that the case handling process is carried out objectively, transparently, and thoroughly.
"The formation of the fact-finding team is the right step and proof of serious handling by FPTI to ensure that all information and facts can be studied in depth."
"We hope that the process will be objective, professional, and a way to realize justice for the victims," said the Minister of Youth and Sports.
The Ministry of Youth and Sports will continue to monitor the development of the process carried out by FPTI and is ready to coordinate with relevant parties to ensure that the handling of this case runs well and upholds justice for the victims.
Yenny Wahid explained that the athletes who were victims have made an official report to the police. FPTI also provides lawyers.
"So, we will protect them to be able to get a dignified life and get justice. There are two processes that run in parallel."
"First, the process is internal to the FPTI fact-finding team, then also the legal process that is already underway," said Yenny Wahid.
