All England 2026: 10 Indonesian Representatives Advance to the Second Round

JAKARTA - Indonesia managed to place 10 representatives in the second round of the 2026 All England, four of which faced each other so that two tickets for the quarter-finals of the world's oldest tournament were already in hand.

The last match of the first round of the BWF Super 1000 level tournament was completed on Wednesday, March 4, 2026, WIB night. Indonesia managed to get an additional seven tickets from the eight representatives who fought.

In the men's singles sector, the first round test was successfully passed by Jonatan Christie and then followed by Alwi Farhan. Jonatan sealed the ticket to the second round after defeating Jia Heng Jason Teh from Singapore, while Alwi sent Ayush Shetty (India) home.

In the second round, Jonatan and Alwi both met with the Chinese Taipei representative. Fourth seed Jonatan faced Lin Chun Yi, while Alwi will get a tough test against seventh seed Chou Tien Chen.

From the men's doubles sector, the only additional ticket for Indonesia was obtained by Rahmat Hidayat/Muhammad Rian Ardianto. They stopped Liu Kuang Heng/Yang Po Han (China Taipei) to face the fifth seed Goh Sze Fei/Nur Izzuddin from Malaysia.

The next two tickets were obtained by the women's doubles. After losing Rachel Allessya Rose/Febi Setianingrum, this sector was able to survive through the pair of Amallia Cahaya Pratiwi/Siti Fadia Silva Ramadhanti and Febriana Dwipuji Kusuma/Meilysa Trias Puspitasari.

Then, the tickets were obtained by the doubles Jafar Hidayatullah/Felisha Alberta Nathaniel Pasaribu and Amri Syahnawi/Nita Violina Marwah from the mixed doubles sector. The two are sure to meet in the second round so that one quarterfinal ticket is already in hand.

Previously, on the first day, Tuesday, March 3, 2026, Indonesia got three tickets through Raymond Indra/Nikolaus Joaquin, Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Shohibul Fikri, and Putri Kusuma Wardani. Raymond/Nikolaus and Fajar/Fikri also met directly in the second round.

The match was a repeat of last year's Australian Open final. At that time, Fajar/Fikri, who were more favored, had to be content with coming out as runners-up in the BWF Super 500 level tournament.
