JAKARTA - Indonesian male silat, Muhammad Zaki Zikrillah Prasong, still plans to find a job after winning the gold medal in the 2025 Thailand SEA Games pencak silat and receiving a large bonus of Rp1 billion from the Government.

Zaki ended his career in the biennial multi-branch sports festival by winning the gold medal in the men's wrestling event in the C 55-60 kilogram class after winning WO over the host wrestler, Tinnapat Janjaroen.

The fighter from East Nusa Tenggara said the large bonus he received would be handed over to his parents. He will also continue to look for a job because there is no certainty of a long-term career as an athlete.

"It seems like he wants to find a job first because he is getting older. If he continues to be an athlete, it seems that his future is not good for old age," he said when he arrived in Jakarta.

The latest achievement in Thailand is Zaki's second gold throughout his participation in the SEA Games and marks his debut in a new class. He previously also won a gold medal at the 2023 Cambodia SEA Games in the 50-55 kilogram class.

The 24-year-old athlete said the competition in the new class he was in was quite challenging because of the difference in body weight, muscle mass, and reach.

"Of course (this gold medal) is for both parents, family, and the people of East Nusa Tenggara who have given me support," he said.

From the pencak silat sport, Indonesia managed to come out as the overall champion with four gold medals, one silver medal, and seven bronze medals.

Thailand hosts are in second place with three gold medals, four silver medals, and three bronze medals. Meanwhile, Malaysia is in third place with three gold medals, two silver medals, and one bronze medal.
