Janice/Aldila Reach the Final Round of the 2025 SEA Games

JAKARTA - Indonesia's mainstay women's tennis players, Janice Tjen and Aldila Sutjiadi, managed to pass the semifinals of the women's doubles at the 2025 SEA Games to keep the hope of winning a gold medal.

They carved out a 2-0 (6-1 and 6-1) victory over the Filipino pair, Stefi Marithe Aludo/Tenniele Madis, in a match that took place at the National Tennis Development Center, Nonthaburi, on Wednesday, December 17, 2025.

Furthermore, Janice/Aldila will play the gold medal match against the host pair of Thailand, Lanlana Tararudee/Peangtarn Plipuech.

The Thai pair qualified for the final after defeating another Indonesian pair, Anjali Kirana Junarto/Priska Madelyn Nugroho. Anjali/Priska surrendered two sets directly with a score of 6 (5)-7 and 2-6.

Janice/Aldila became the only Indonesian representative who managed to reach the final round of the six representatives who competed today. The other four stopped in the semifinals, namely one mixed doubles, one men's singles, and two men's doubles.

Aldila also competed in the mixed doubles event with Christopher Rungkat. However, their journey stopped after losing to the host pair, Pruchya Isaro/Peangtarn Plipuech.

From the men's singles, the only Indonesian remaining, Muhammad Rifqi Fitriadi, also had to stop in the semifinals. He suffered a two-set loss 2-6 and 5-7 to Thailand's Kasidit Samrej.

In addition, Rifqi again suffered a defeat in the men's doubles semifinals. Partnering with his senior, Christopher Rungkat, they lost 2-6 and 6-7 (7-9) to the Thai pair, Pawit Sornlaksup/Wishaya Trongcharoenchaikul.

Meanwhile, another Indonesian men's doubles pair, Anthony Susanto/Lucky Candra Kurniawan, was also unable to do much and lost 2-6 and 3-6 to the Thai pair, Pruchya Isaro/Maximus Parasol Jones.
