SEA Games 2025: Jafar/Felisha Reach Quarter-Finals

Jafar Hidayatullah/Felisha Alberta Nathaniel Pasaribu secured tickets for the last eight of the 2025 SEA Games (doc. NOC Indonesia).

JAKARTA The third seed mixed doubles Jafar Hidayatullah/Felisha Alberta Nathaniel Pasaribu were forced to rise from behind to secure a ticket to the quarter-finals of Thailand's 2025 SEA Games.

The owner of the Taipei Open 2025 got tickets for the last eight after defeating the Singaporean pair, Eng Keat Wesley Koh/Zheng Yan Li, in a rubber game duel 19-21, 21-8, and 21-19 on Thursday, December 11, 2025.

Felisha said that in the match her performance was still far from what she expected. This was her first experience playing in the biennial multi-pronged sporting event.

"After this, it will definitely be evaluated again to prepare for the next match. Tomorrow try to return to actual performance," he said in an official statement received in Jakarta.

Jafar/Felisha face fierce play in the first and third games. During the first game, they were four points behind in the interval, but could turn ahead over the pair against 18-16.

The pair from Singapore then scored three points to take the lead. Jafar/Felisha had equalized the score to 19-19, but two points later belonged to Eng/Zheng.

Jafar/Felisha's best performance in this match took place in the second game. They got four points in a row at the start of the game and were no longer overtaken until the end.

"We really played undercover. I was also a bit annoyed earlier. The game was out of control and a bit emotional," said Jafar.

In the quarter-finals, Jafar/Felisha will meet Hein Htut/Thet Htar Thuzar. The Myanmar pair secured tickets for the quarter-finals after beating Namboun Luangammath/Phoutsavanh Daopasith from Laos.

In another match, Indonesia's mixed doubles, Amri Syahnawi/Nita Violina Marwah, lost. They were eliminated from the tournament after being beaten by Hee Yong Kai Terry/Jin Yu Jia from Singapore in two straight games 18-21 and 14-21.
