SEA Games 2025 Tennis Results: Indonesian Women's Team Beat Laos Without Mercy 3-0

JAKARTA The Indonesian women's tennis team managed to secure a landslide victory against Laos to reach the semifinals of the 2025 SEA Games and meet Malaysia.

The quarter-final clash between Indonesia and Laos took place at the National Tennis Development Center, Nonthaburi, Thailand, on Wednesday, December 10, 2025. Indonesia won with a final score of 3-0.

"Today is in line with expectations. It is very good to prepare for the next round of matches, especially for different match atmosphere adjustments and fields," said Martin Setiawan as captain of the Indonesian women's team.

In that match, Indonesia got the first point through Priska Madelyn Nugroho. He came down against Siana MacDonald and won with a very landslide score of 6-1 and 6-2.

Indonesia kemudian berhasil memabarkan jarak saat petenis yang tengah naik daun, Janice Tjen, turun di partai kedua. Dia menang dua set langsung juga 6-2 dan 7-5 melawan Malaylack Pathummakunen.

The last point for Indonesia was contributed by the women's doubles Priska Madelyn Nugroho who was paired with Aldila Sutjiadi. The pair stopped McDonald and Aliya Vongdala with 6-0 and 6-2.

"In the semifinals against Malaysia, we will continue to play 100 percent, not underestimate the opponent, let alone team events with various factors X. The captain and team of coaches continue to maintain physical conditions and prepare the mentality of the players," said Martin.

Malaysia in other matches secured tickets to the semifinals after beating Singapore. The Indonesian vs Malaysia duel will take place on Friday, December 12, 2025.

As of this evening, the Indonesian contingent for the 2025 SEA Games has secured four gold medals from badminton, petanque, canoeing, and taekowondo. In addition, there are seven silver and seven bronze medals.
