Christian Pulisic Against Flu, Bring Milan Back To The Top Of Serie A Standings

Christian Pulisic helped AC Milan return to the top of the Serie A standings (Instagram/@acmilan).

JAKARTA - Christian Pulisic, who was hit by the flu, scored two heroic goals in the second half despite entering the bench when AC Milan won 3-2 over Torino on Tuesday, December 8, 2025, early morning WIB.

Pulisic's contribution also helped the Rossoneri return to the top of the Serie A 2025/2026 standings.

"Two days ago, I really felt weak. Today I felt much better. I'm happy to be here to help the team."

"Yesterday, we didn't know if I could play, but this morning I felt much better. I'm happy with the goals being scored, but the most important thing is to win the game," Pulisic told Sky Sports Italia revealing how severe his fight against the flu was before the game.

Before heading to the top of Serie A, the victory of Napoli and Internazionale last weekend put AC Milan in third place.

This means that AC Milan will enter the match against Torino with the ambition of winning three points to return to the top. However, at first the target seemed impossible.

The Rossoneri trailed 0-2 after 17 minutes through goals from Nikola Vlasic and a penalty from Duvan Zapata.

Adrien Rabiot then started the rise of AC Milan with spectacular shots from 35 meters before Pulisic entered in the 67th minute to score two goals.

The nettage ensured a 3-2 win and led AC Milan to match Napoli's points, but was ahead on goal difference to return to top position in the standings.

Pulisic will be the key United States player in the 2026 World Cup next summer. The United States already knows their opponents in the group stage, namely Paraguay, Australia, and winner of one of the UEFA qualifying playoffs.

For now, the United States captain is focused on maintaining his brilliant performance in Serie A, where he equaled the league's record for the most goals with seven goals after two goals against Torino.

"This is a season where we don't often see AC Milan dominate the game. I still need to find a rhythm of the game. This team played very well this year. We will live it game after game," said Pulisic.
