Prabowo Prepares 500 Hectares Of Land To Build Sports Centers

President Prabowo Subianto made a plan to build a national sports center on an area of 500 hectares, although he has not specifically mentioned the location to be used.

The plan was conveyed by Prabowo when he officially released the Indonesian contingent for the 2025 SEA Games Thailand at the Merdeka Palace, Central Jakarta, on Friday, December 5, 2025.

"I have planned to build a large sports center. I ask for about a minimum of 500 hectares (of sports)," said Prabowo.

The construction of this sports center is part of the Government's seriousness in providing guidance for the seeds of Indonesian athletes who will be able to make the nation proud on various important stages.

Prabowo said that long-term coaching for early childhood is the best way to produce athletes who are ready to fight with a winning mentality.

"We will send our children anywhere to study. We will bring in the best coaches. We will be fostered from an early age. We are trained from the age of eight, we will build a long-term training center," he said.

On that occasion, Prabowo also hoped that the Indonesian contingent, which will fight in the 2025 SEA Games in Thailand, could provide maximum performance.

"We as coaches, we pray that you will be a good representative. Call Indonesia Raya in front of other nations. Not light, I understand, not light because our nation faces many problems," he said.

Thailand's 2025 SEA Games will officially open on December 9. A total of 50 sports and 574 match numbers are contested in the biennial sporting event.

Indonesia itself sent 1,021 athletes from 49 sports to compete there. The Red-White contingent is targeted to bring home 80 gold medals.
