Edward Scores 44 Points Bringing Timberwolves Hajar Pelicans

Minnesota Timberwolves managed to turn things around against New Orleans Pelians (Instagram/@timberwolves).

JAKARTA Anthony Edwards scored 44 points as Minnesota Timberwolves comeback reversed a 13-point deficit in the first half to beat New Orleans host Pelicans 149-142 in extra time on Tuesday, December 3, 2025.

Edwards managed to score six of 13 three-point shots and appeared in 47 minutes 27 seconds. His only break is in the second quarter.

Meanwhile, Rudy Gobert scored 26 points with 13 rebounds, Naz Reid completed the game with 18 points, Jaden McDaniels added 17 points, and Julius Randle contributed 16 points.

On the opposing side, Trey Murphy III posted 33 points and 15 rebounds for New Orleans on his return from an elbow injury. Saddiq Bey contributed 22 points, while new players Derik Queen and Jeremiah Spears each got 21 points.

New Orleans are plagued by many turnovers at the end of the game. They couldn't hold Randle, Gobert, and Edwards in extra time.

Gobert gave Minnesota an initial color with 10 points and six rebounds in the opening quarter, which in the end Timberwolves managed to lead with a score of 31-25.

Reid managed to follow Gobert by scoring 13 points in the second quarter in nine minutes off the bench, but Minnesota was instead smothered by the Perlicans defense, which managed to keep the ball away from Edwards' hands during that time.

New Orleans included 15 of 23 shots during that period. Pelicans turned 55-55 to 68-55 ahead before Gobert's three-point shot cut the lead to 68-58.

Edwards had fallen to the floor and was seen complaining of pain after his right knee collided with Micah Peaky's knee in the remaining four minutes of the third quarter, but the Timberwolves star dismissed fears of injury and dominated the quarter.
