Marseille Rises To The Top Of The Standings After Hitting Nice 5-1, Greenwood Donates 2 Goals

JAKARTA - Marseille moved up to first place in the standings after hitting Nice with a score of 5-1 in the 13th week of the French League at Allianz Riviera Stadium, Nice, Friday, November 21, local time.

Citing Antara, in this match Marseille won thanks to Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang's goal, Mason Greenwood (2), Timothy Weah and Igor Paixao, while Nice had narrowed the gap through Mohamed-Ali Cho, Ligue 1 notes.

This result put Marseille in second place in the French League standings with 28 points from 13 matches, while Nice stuck in ninth place with 17 points.

Marseille took the initiative to attack first and immediately threatened with a kick from Benjamin Pavard which was still secure by Nice goalkeeper Yehvann Diouf.

Then Marseille managed to take the lead in the 11th minute after Benjamin Pavard's pass was met by Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang's kick which resulted in a goal so that the score changed to 1-0.

Robert De Zerbi's squad managed to double their lead to 2-0 in the 33rd minute with Mason Greenwood's shot into Nice's goal.

Despite being two goals behind, Nice had tried to reduce the gap through Terem Moffi, but Marseille goalkeeper Jeffrey De Lange was still able to break.

Entering the second half, Marseille managed to increase their lead to 3-0 through Greenwood's second goal after receiving Leonardo Balerdi's pass in the 53rd minute.

Only five minutes later, Marseille could widen the gap to 4-0 through Timothy Weah's goal in the 58th minute after receiving a pass from Aubameyang.

Nice to reduce the gap to 1-4 after Sofiane Diop's pass was met by Mohamed-Ali Cho's header when the game entered the 63rd minute.

Marseille again added their lead to 5-1 after a pass from Aubameyang was met by Igor Paixao's shot which led to a goal in the 74th minute.

In the remaining time, Marseille continued to show their dominance over Nice, but until the game was over, the 5-1 score for the visitors' victory remained.
