Barcelona Officially Use Camp Nou For Champions League Match Against Eintracht Frankfurt

JAKARTA - Barcelona announced on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, that they will play their Champions League match against Eintracht Frankfurt at Camp Nou.

The Catalan giants finally returned to their homes this weekend for LaLiga's match against Athletic Bilbao after more than two years of absence.

The club also stated that the Champions League match could continue at the legendary stadium against Eintracht Frankfurt on December 9, 2025 after UEFA received a team request to return to Camp Nou. UEFA said all necessary requirements had been met.

The match against Athletic Bilbao will take place in front of 45,401 spectators, with unfinished renovations.

Renovation work began in the summer of 2023 to modernize the stadium and increase capacity to 105.000.

The original plan, Barcelona will return to compete there in November 2025. However, the schedule missed which finally made the Blaugrana play most of the matches at the Olimpic Lluis Companys Stadium.

"FC Barcelona is delighted to be able to compete again in its stadium and continue to advance in the new Camp Nou comprehensive transformation project," Barcelona said in a statement.

Barcelona first received permission to reopen the stadium in October 2025, but the capacity limit set at that time was 25,991, which the club said was insufficient to justify a direct financial return.

They then held a trial event at Camp Nou in early November 2025, with less than 23,000 supporters attending an open training session which President Joan Laporta called success.

The club, which is in big debt, managed to get 1.45 billion euros (around Rp28 trillion) from various investors to carry out the renovation project.
