JAKARTA The wushu sport (sports) has set a target to bring home three gold medals from the 2025 SEA Games which will take place next month in Thailand.
Chairman of the Indonesian Wushu Executive Board (PB WI), Airlangga Hartarto, said that Indonesia may not be able to maintain the achievements of the previous edition of the SEA Games.
"Hopefully we can maintain a proportional achievement. Our target is at least three gold medals," said Airlangga.
Previously, when appearing at the 2023 SEA Games in Cambodia, wushu's sport managed to contribute six gold medals for the Indonesian contingent from 21 contested numbers.
However, in Thailand, wushu sports will only get 14 numbers. Six numbers that previously contributed to Cambodia were also not contested.

"This national meeting is very strategic and important because we need to evaluate the program in 2025, as well as to see preparations at the time of a big match at the end of this year," said Airlangga.
In addition to the SEA Games, the National Working Meeting will also discuss preparations for the Youth Olympic Games at Dakar next year as well as the FISU World University Championship Combat in Brazil.
